The 2022 Dutch Basketball Supercup was the 10th edition of the Dutch Basketball Supercup. The game was played on 28 September 2022 in the Maaspoort in 's-Hertogenbosch. The defending Dutch champions Heroes Den Bosch easily defeated Donar, winners of the 2021–22 Dutch Basketball Cup. Heroes won its third Supercup title. Vernon Taylor of Donar was the top scorer of the game with 20 points, while Heroes player Chris-Ebou Ndow was named MVP of the game. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972. Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. Donar is one of the traditional first division clubs along with Den Bosch, as it entered the league years ago. Erik Braal
Erik Braal (born May 16, 1971) is a Dutch professional basketball coach, currently serving as head coach for Heroes Den Bosch. He was the head coach of Donar from 2015 until 2020. Braal was the most successful coach ever for the club with seven trophies won. Career Braal was head coach of Rotterdam Basketbal for five years, from 2003 till 2008. After that he became head coach of West-Brabant Giants. He led the team to the Dutch Finals for the first time in club history, in 2009–10. In 2011 he signed with Aris Leeuwarden. Matthew Otten (born December 8, 1981) is an American retired basketball player and current coach. He last held the position of head coach of Donar. Otten holds a Dutch passport as well and played the shooting guard position during his career. Professional career Otten was part of the GasTerra Flames in 2010 and 2011, the years in which the club won a Dutch cup and national championship. In the 2011–12 season, Otten played for Mersey Tigers in the United Kingdom. In 2012 Otten returned to the Netherlands in 2012, when he signed with Rotterdam Basketbal College. The Dutch Basketball Supercup, also known as the DBL Supercup, is the super cup competition of professional basketball in the Netherlands. The match is played by the champions of the Dutch Basketball League and the winner of the NBB Cup. It is a super cup competition. The first Supercup game was held in 2011.
