2021 China Formula 4 Championship
The 2021 F4 Chinese Championship (Shell Helix FIA F4 Chinese Championship) was the seventh season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It began on 22 October at Zhuhai International Circuit and ended on 5 December at Ningbo International Circuit. Teams and drivers Race calendar and results The calendar featuring 4 rounds and 14 races was announced on 31 March. The date of the second round at Wuhan Street Circuit and double points for races at Guia Circuit were confirmed on 24 May. On 27 May, all the outdoor sports, including motorsports, were suspended in China until further notice in order to revise safety protocols in the aftermath of Gansu ultramarathon disaster. On the same day, the opening round at Zhuhai International Circuit was postponed. The revised calendar was communicated to the teams on 30 August. F4 Chinese Championship
F4 Chinese Championship () is a racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4. The inaugural season was the 2015–16 edition. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. It involves sporting and technical regulations and regulates costs. Cars competing in this category are not allowed to cost more than €30,000. A single season in a Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000. The Spanish F4 is planned to be the one of the second phase Formula 4 championships. The first phase championships was the Italian F4 Championship and the Formula 4 Sudamericana, which started in 2014. Neric Wei
Chao Yin "Neric" Wei (born 21 March 1981) is a Chinese racing driver Formally competing in the TCR International Series and TCR Asia Series. Having previously competed in the Asian Le Mans Series Sprint Cup, Asian Formula Renault Series and Lotus Interport Cup Series amongst others. Racing career Wei began his career in 2010 in the Zhuhai Pan Delta Super Racing Festival, he won the championship three years in a row, from 2010-2012. He switched to the Lotus Interport Cup Series in 2013 and won the title that year. He also raced in the Asian Formula Renault Series in 2013, finishing fifth in the championship standings that year. He also took part in the Macau Lotus Greater China Race that year. For 2014 he returned to the Asian Formula Renault Series, finishing third in the championship that year. 2021 Macau Grand Prix
The 2021 Macau Grand Prix was a motor race for Formula 4 (F4) cars held on the streets of Macau on 21 November 2021. Just like in 2020, the race was an F4 event (rather than Formula Three), and was part of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)-administered China Formula 4 Championship for the second time running. The event consisted of two races; an eight-lap qualifying race deciding the starting grid for the twelve-lap main event. Gansu Ultramarathon Disaster
On 22 May 2021, twenty-one professional runners died from hypothermia out of the 172 competing in a government-run 100 kilometer (62 mi) trail running race held in the Yellow River Stone Forest in Jingtai County, Gansu, China. When the cold front struck, rain and possibly graupel were carried by gust reaching level 9 (75–88 km/h; 47–54 mph). The apparent temperature ("body feel") dropped from at 10:00 to from 11:20 to 13:50. Many runners collapsed unconscious from hypothermia while reaching the checkpoint. The organizers were unaware of the scope of the disaster because they did not assign any staff between checkpoints and they did not know the distressed point was in mobile phone signal blind spots. The collapsed runners did not survive and rescuers did not arrive until 19:00. The dead were from the lead pack due to the timing of the cold front, while the slower runners survived. Guia Circuit
The Guia Circuit, or Circuito da Guia, is a street circuit located at the southeast region of the Macau Peninsula in Macau. It is the venue of the Macau Grand Prix and Guia Race of Macau. The circuit consists of long straights and tight corners, and features the characteristics of a typical street circuit - narrow, bumpy and limited overtaking opportunities. The Wuhan Street Circuit is a street circuit in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the capital of the province of Hubei. History The Wuhan Street Circuit is located around the Wuhan Sports Center, a large sports complex in the city.
