2021 CS Finlandia Trophy
The 2021 CS Finlandia Trophy was held on October 7–10, 2021 in Espoo, Finland. It was part of the 2021–22 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. 2021 CS Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy
The 2021 CS Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy was held on October 13–17, 2021 in Beijing, China. It was scheduled as part of the 2021–22 ISU Challenger Series, although it was later re-classified as an international event. It also served as the test event for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. In January 2021, the International Skating Union announced that the 2021 Asian Open Trophy would replace the 2020–21 Grand Prix Final as the designated international test event for the 2022 Winter Olympics. The 2020–21 Grand Prix Final was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Beijing 2022 organizing committee also conducted a domestic, internal test event program for the Olympics in April 2021. Chantelle Kerry (born 9 June 1996) is an Australian figure skater. Jason Chan (born 12 August 1996) is a Canadian- Australian ice dancer who currently represents Australia. With partner Holly Harris, he is the 2019 Australian national senior champion. With former partner Valérie Taillefer he was the 2014 Canadian novice dance champion. Career Early career In 2011, Chan trained in Montreal with Valérie Taillefer, competing at the pre-novice level in the Canadian national skating championships in Regina. At the novice level at the 2014 Canadian Championships, the pair won the gold medal. Holly Harris (born 2 November 2002) is an Australian figure skater who currently competes in ice dance. With her skating partner, Jason Chan, she is the 2019 Australian national champion. As a singles skater, she qualified to the final segment at the 2017 World Junior Championships and finished 23rd overall. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man".
