2020–21 Ukrainian Second League
The 2020–21 Ukrainian Second League is the 30th since its establishment. The football competitions in the Second League kicked off on 6 September 2020, about half a month after promotion/relegation playoffs. The planned 12th week of the season that accomplished the first half took place on 21 November 2020, yet the extra week was provided for few games that were forced to be rescheduled before teams retired for the winter intermission. 2008–09 Ukrainian Second League
The 2008–09 Ukrainian Second League was the 18th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competitions are divided into two groups – A and B. FC Kalush
FC Kalush ( uk, Футбольний клуб «Калуш») was a Ukrainian professional football club from Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. History The club was founded soon after World War II as Khimik Kalush and in the Soviet competitions competed at regional level and KFK (amateur level). The club was reestablished in place of previously existed Polish club at the chemical plant TESP that also was overtaken by Soviets. Khimik Kalush also was associated with the Soviet chemical and metallurgical association "Khlorvinil" that was expanded in 1961. At KFK level the club competed until 1995, when as Khimik entered the Druha Liha. Its main sponsor "Khlorvinil" was reorganized as a state enterprise "Oriana". FC Chornomorets-2 Odesa is former football team that was the reserve team of the FC Chornomorets Odesa. It was created out of the ''Chornomorets'' reserves team that competed in the Soviet competition in 1992. It was dissolved in 2020. History The team was allowed to enter the professional level competition and participate in the First League. In its short history, it performed under par and was taken out of the professional level competitions by 1995. In 1999, it was reformed on the base of the defunct SC Odesa. Since the creation of the Youth and Reserves competition for the Ukrainian Premier League for 2004–05 season, the team left the Second League and entered the competition for the double teams. MFC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia ( uk, Футбо́льний клуб «Металу́рг» Запорі́жжя ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Zaporizhzhia. Reestablished in 2017, it is a "phoenix club" of the original Soviet factory team Metalurh that existed in 1935–2016. The original club holds several historical records of the Soviet football, particularly while participating in the Soviet second tier (in 1971–1991 known as First League). The club has the highest number of seasons spent in the Soviet second tier as well as the highest number of tournament points it earned. 2019–20 Ukrainian First League
The 2019–20 Ukrainian First League is the 29th since its establishment. The competition began on 27 July 2019 with eight matches of Round 1, and went into recess for a winter break which started after the completion of Round 19 on 24 November 2019. The competition was to be resumed on 22 March 2020 and was expected to end 23 May 2020. However, on 17 March 2020 the Ukrainian Association of Football adopted the decision to pause all football competitions in the country since 18 March 2020 for unspecified period of time (until adoption of the next decision to resume all football events) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 11 June 2020, the PFL Extraordinary Conference took the decision to resume the competition starting from 24 June with the conclusion on 11 August 2020. FC Balkany Zorya ( uk, ФК Балкани Зоря, FK Balkany Zorya) is a professional Ukrainian football team that is based in the village of Zorya, Sarata Raion in the region of Budjak, Odesa Oblast. History The club was founded in 2007 as FC Zorya in the ethnically Bulgarian village of Zorya that was founded in 1831 by resettlers from Bulgaria which is located on the Balkan peninsula. In the first year of the founding of the club managed to take second place in the championship of Sarata Raion. Between 2008–2011, Balkany became Champions of the Raion, also winning the cup and tournaments. The 2019–20 Ukrainian Premier League season was the 29th top-level football club competitions since the fall of the Soviet Union and the 12th since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League.
