The 2020 Swedish Golf Tour, titled as the 2020 MoreGolf Mastercard Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 37th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, the main professional golf tour in Sweden since it was formed in 1984, with most tournaments being incorporated into the Nordic Golf League since 1999. MoreGolf Mastercard title sponsorship In March, it was announced that the tour had signed a title sponsorship agreement with MoreGolf Mastercard, being renamed as the MoreGolf Mastercard Tour. In-season changes The 2020 schedule initially consisted of 26 tournaments, 16 of them, in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Spain, included in the 2020 schedule. After a four-month break and rescheduling, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 SGT schedule included 12 tournaments, two of them played in Spain in February and March, the remaining 10 in Sweden. Ludvig Åberg
Ludvig Noa Åberg (born 31 October 1999) is a Swedish amateur golfer. He rose to number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in September 2022, after becoming number one in the European Amateur Golf Ranking in April 2021. He was part of the Swedish team winning the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship and was runner-up at the 2021 European Amateur. Early life Åberg was born and grew up in Eslöv in the province of Skåne, Sweden. In 2007 he began playing golf at the local club, Eslöv Golf Club, which he has represented through his career. Amateur career As an amateur, Åberg has represented Sweden on different levels since 2017. The Swedish Match Play Championship is a golf tournament played since 1904, held for both men and women. It is the oldest and most traditional golf tournament in Sweden. The name SM is shortening in Swedish language for "Svenska Mästerskapet" (the Swedish Championship). History From the first tournament in 1904 (for men) and 1911 (for women) until 1983, it was an amateur tournament, from 1910 open only for Swedish citizens, and the winner was the official Swedish champion. Since 1984, except 1985, the tournament has been open to both amateurs and professionals and for foreign citizens. The 2020 Swedish Golf Tour was the 35th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden. Schedule The season saw an attempt to rebrand the existing set of tournaments as a pan- Nordic tour, and launch the Nordic Golf Tour (NGT). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the events outside Sweden were cancelled and the remaining Swedish events were removed from the 2020 LET Access Series (LETAS) schedule. The Danish Golf Tour, currently titled as the ECCO Tour for sponsorship reasons, is a developmental professional golf tour based in Denmark. Similar to the Swedish Golf Tour, most events on the Danish Golf Tour schedule are incorporated into the Nordic Golf League, one of the four third-tier tours recognized by the European Tour. History The tour was founded in 2002 as a joint venture by Dan Stage and the PGA of Denmark. The aim of the tour being to provide a new generation of golfers with optimal conditions for developing their game. Adam Lasse Björn Hellgren (born 21 November 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer and Asian Tour player. He was runner-up in the 2021 Dormy Open on the Challenge Tour.
