2020 Speedway Of Nations
The 2020 Speedway of Nations (sponsored by Monster Energy) was the third FIM Speedway of Nations. The competition was scheduled to consist of a two-legged final but was reduced to a single leg because of heavy rain on the opening day. The Speedway of Nations normally also includes a semi-final stage, which was due to be run in Latvia in September. The semi-final was cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the top seven nations from the 2019 Speedway of Nations were seeded direct to the final. Germany withdrew from the competition, and were replaced by the Czech Republic. The final was originally scheduled to be staged on 24 and 25 October 2020 at the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester. but was rescheduled and held in Lublin on 17 October due to increased COVID-19 restrictions in the United Kingdom. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. Anders Thomsen (born 1 January 1994) is an international speedway rider from Denmark and twice Danish champion. Speedway career Thomsen became champion of Denmark, winning the Danish Championship in 2020. He rode in the second tier of British Speedway from 2013–2016, riding for Glasgow Tigers and Peterborough Panthers. In 2020, he won a bronze medal at the 2020 Speedway of Nations and in 2021, he won the Danish title for the second time and was awarded a permanent wildcard for the 2021 Speedway Grand Prix. Drew Kemp (born 11 August 2002) is a British motorcycle speedway rider. Career In 2019, riding for Kent Kings Kemp won the Division 3 Pairs with Anders Rowe, the National Trophy and finished runner-up in the NDL Riders' Championship behind his teammate Rowe. He reached the final of the 2019 U19 European Championship. Kemp joined Eastbourne Eagles on 19 November 2019, for their 2020 SGB Championship season.
