2020 Munster Senior Football Championship Final
The 2020 Munster Senior Football Championship Final was played at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on 22 November 2020. It was contested by Tipperary and Cork. Tipperary won a first title since 1935, doing so in the home ground of their opponent. This was also the first time since 1992 that neither Cork nor Kerry won the competition. Pre-match The game was held amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland, which also led to the delayed championship. To mark the centenary of Bloody Sunday, Tipperary wore special commemorative jerseys in white and green for the game, a replica of the colours worn by the Tipperary team which played Dublin at Croke Park in 1920. Former under-21 footballer of the year and professional Australian rules footballer Colin O'Riordan was named in the team. The fixtures were announced on RTÉ Radio on 8 October 2019. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, all GAA activity was suspended until late in the year. On 22 November 2020, Tipperary won the title after a 0-17 to 0-14 win against Cork in the final. It was Tipperary's first Munster title in 85 years. Evan Comerford (born 18 January 1994) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Tipperary senior team. Career Born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Comerford first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minors team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2015 league. Comerford immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. At club level Comerford plays with Kilsheelan–Kilcash. Philip Austin (born 18 December 1986) is an Irish Gaelic football player who previously played at inter-county level for Tipperary. He plays his club football for Borrisokane. Michael Quinlivan (born 15 February 1993) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays at inter-county level for Tipperary, and plays his club football for Clonmel Commercials in South Tipperary. Bill Maher (born 21 January 1994) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling and Gaelic football with his local club Kilsheelan–Kilcash and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2015 and Tipperary senior football team since 2016.
