2020 Korea Masters
The 2020 BWF World Tour (officially known as 2020 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the third season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 26 tournaments which led up to the World Tour Finals tournament. The 27 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 was the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000 (three tournaments), Level 3 called Super 750 (five tournaments), Level 4 called Super 500 (seven tournaments) and Level 5 called Super 300 (11 tournaments). Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool were offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 (level 6), also offers BWF World Tour ranking points. Viktor Axelsen
Viktor Axelsen (born 4 January 1994) is a Danish badminton player. He is the 2017 and 2022 World champion and the 2020 Olympic champion. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European singles player to hold the title. Axelsen is a three-time European champion, having won the title in 2016, 2018 and 2022. Early life Axelsen was born in Odense, and at six years old, his father introduced him to badminton, playing the games at the Odense badminton club. He lived with his father after his parents divorced, and then lived alone in Copenhagen at the age of 17 and joined the national team. His father Henrik Axelsen ran a small advertising agency for a number of years, but now works full time as a manager for his son, and his mother Gitte Lundager has a shop in central Odense with a hairdressing salon, cosmetics and fashion clothing. Carolina Marín
Carolina María Marín Martín (born 15 June 1993) is a Spanish professional badminton player. She is an Badminton at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, Olympic Champion, three-time BWF World Championships, World Champion, six-time European Badminton Championships, European Champion, and the former World's No. 1 in Badminton World Federation, BWF rankings for the women's singles discipline, holding the World No. 1 title for 66 weeks. Widely regarded as one of the greatest female athletes in women's singles badminton, she holds the distinction of having won a medal in almost every BWF tournament, along with the consecutive golds at the World Championships, and the European Championships. 2020 Yonex Thailand Open
The Yonex Thailand Open was a badminton tournament which took place at the Impact Arena in Thailand from 12 to 17 January 2021. It had a total purse of $1,000,000. Tournament The Yonex Thailand Open was the eighth tournament of the 2020 BWF World Tour and also part of the Thailand Open championships, which had been held since 1984. This tournament was organized by Badminton Association of Thailand and sanctioned by the BWF. It was the first of three BWF tournaments taking place in Thailand in January 2021. Participation in both Thailand Opens was mandatory to qualify for the 2020 BWF World Tour Finals. Four out of five world number ones withdrew from all three tournaments. The Thailand Open in badminton is an open international championships held in Thailand since 1984. It was halted in 1986, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014, and 2021.
