2019–20 Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team represented the University of Miami during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by ninth-year head coach Jim Larrañaga, they played their home games at the Watsco Center on the university's campus in Coral Gables, Florida as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Hurricanes finished the season 15–16, and 7–13 in ACC play. They lost to Clemson in the second round of the ACC tournament. The tournament was cancelled before the Quarterfinals due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NCAA tournament and NIT were also cancelled due to the pandemic. Previous season The Hurricanes finished the 2018–19 season 14–18, 5–13 in ACC play to finish in a tie for eleventh place. Jim Larrañaga
James Joseph Larrañaga ( ; born October 2, 1949) is the head men's basketball coach for the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He has held this position since 2011. Before joining the University of Miami, he served as the head men's basketball coach at American International College from 1977 to 1979, Bowling Green State University from 1986 to 1997, and George Mason University from 1997 to 2011, where he coached the Patriots to 13 consecutive winning seasons and became a media sensation during the Patriots' improbable run to the Final Four of the 2006 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The Demon Deacons were led by fifth-year head coach Danny Manning and played their home games at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Cincinnati Bearcats Men's Basketball
The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball program represents the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team competes in NCAA Division I as part of the American Athletic Conference though they will move to the Big 12 conference (Big XII) within the next few years. The Bearcats are currently coached by Wes Miller. With over 1800 all-time wins, the Bearcats are the 12th winningest basketball programs of all-time. 2019 NBA Draft
The 2019 NBA draft was held on June 20, 2019. It took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. Dewan Antonio Hernandez (born Dewan Antonio Huell; December 9, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for Ningbo Rockets of the Chinese Basketball Association(CBA). He played college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes. High school career Hernandez attended Miami Norland High School in Miami, Florida, playing on three state championship teams. As a senior, he averaged 19.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and was the Miami Herald 8A-6A Player of the Year. Ebuka Rufus Izundu (born 28 June 1996) is a Nigerian professional basketball player for FMP of the Basketball League of Serbia and the Adriatic League. The National Invitational Tournament (NIT) is a men's college basketball tournament operated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Played at regional sites and traditionally at Madison Square Garden (Final Four) in New York City each March and April, it was founded in 1938 and was originally the most prestigious post-season showcase for college basketball.
