2019 WCT Uiseong International Curling Cup
The 2019 WCT Uiseong International Curling Cup was held from September 29 to October 3 in Uiseong-eup, Uiseong County, South Korea. The total purse for the event was ₩ 55,000,000 on both the men's and women's sides. The event had a mix of teams from Canada, Italy, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, United States, and the host South Korea. In the Men's event, Canada's Mike McEwen won their first event of the season by defeating Olympic gold medalist John Shuster from the United States 7–4 in the final. Canada's Scott McDonald won the bronze medal with a 10–4 victory over South Korea's Kim Soo-hyuk. In the Women's event, USA's Nina Roth with Tabitha Peterson throwing skip rocks defeated Olympic silver medalists Kim Kyeong-ae who took over skipping duties for Kim Eun-jung 5–4 in an extra end. Uiseong County
Uiseong County (''Uiseong-gun'') is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, South Korea. Located near the center of the province, it is bounded by Andong on the north, Cheongsong on the east, Gunwi County on the south, and Sangju and Yecheon on the west. Dustin "Deuce" Kidby (born May 26, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. He most recently threw lead rocks for Team Matt Dunstone. Career Juniors Kidby represented Saskatchewan at two Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The first was the 2002 Canadian Juniors, playing lead for Team Kyle George. They finished the event with a 7-5 record. George won the Canadian Juniors in 2005 (without Kidby), but invited him to be the alternate for Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Curling Championships. The team won the gold medal at the event, and Kidby would play in two matches. Kidby returned to the Canadian Juniors in 2006, playing lead for Team Mitch Heidt. Catlin Schneider
Catlin Schneider (born October 17, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. Career Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Schneider was a two-sport athlete at university, playing both football and curling for the University of Regina. In football, Schneider was a wide receiver. In curling, he skipped the University of Regina curling team at the 2014 CIS/CCA Curling Championships on home ice. There, he led his team of Mathew Ring, Rory McCusker and Brendan Ryan to a 2-5 record, missing the playoffs. After university, Schneider joined the Brent Gedak team in 2014, throwing third stones on the team. Braeden Moskowy
Braeden Moskowy (born August 14, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. He is a former Canadian junior curling champion and a six-time Brier competitor. Career Moskowy has represented Saskatchewan in two Canadian Junior Curling Championships: skipping the province in 2010 and 2011. At the 2010 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he lost in the semi-final to Ontario's Jake Walker. At the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Moskowy finished 12–0 in the round robin advancing to the final. In the final Moskowy beat Ontario's Mathew Camm to finish the week a perfect 13–0. Moskowy became the 5th team in Canadian Junior history to go undefeated. Matt Dunstone
Matthew Dunstone, nicknamed "the Sheriff" (born June 25, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Kamloops, British Columbia. Career Dunstone won the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2013. He represented Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, where he won the bronze medal. He was unable to defend his championship at the 2014 Canadian Juniors after losing in the finals of the Manitoba Canola Juniors to Braden Calvert. The next time he would represent Manitoba was in 2016, after winning the 2016 Manitoba Canola Juniors. Kim Min-ji (born August 16, 1999) is a South Korean curler. She currently plays third on the Gyeonggi Province curling team skipped by Gim Eun-ji. She is a 2018 Pacific-Asia Curling champion. Career Kim skipped the South Korean junior team at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships. She led her team of Kim Hye-rin, Yang Tae-i, Oh Su-yun and Lee Ji-young to a bronze medal finish. After finishing the round robin with a 7–2 record, the team lost to Hungary (skipped by Dorottya Palancsa) in the 3 vs. 4 page playoff game, but went on to beat the Hungarians in a re-match in the bronze medal game, after Hungary lost in the semifinal. Silvana Petra Tirinzoni (born 25 June 1979) is a Swiss curler from Zurich. She is currently the reigning women's world champion skip having won the last three championships, in 2019, 2021 and . Tirinzoni also represented Switzerland at the 2022 Winter Olympics and 2018 Winter Olympics, after winning the 2017 Swiss Olympic Curling Trials. Kim Eun-jung (curler)
Kim Eun-jung, nicknamed "Annie" (born November 29, 1990) is a South Korean curler from Uiseong. She currently skips her own team on the World Curling Tour. Kim skipped the national team from 2016 to 2018 and represented Korea on home ice at the 2018 Winter Olympics where her team won a silver medal. Career As a junior skip, Kim led South Korea to three-straight silver medals at the Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships. In 2010, she lost in the final to China's Liu Jinli, in 2011 she lost to Japan's Sayaka Yoshimura, and in 2012 she lost to Yoshimura again.
