2019 Canoe Slalom World Cup
The 2019 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of five races in several canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 32nd edition. Calendar The series opened with World Cup Race 1 in Lee Valley, England (13–16 June) and ended with the World Cup Final in Prague, Czech Republic (6–8 September). Standings The winner of each race was awarded 60 points (double points were awarded for the World Cup Final). Points for lower places differed from one category to another. Every participant was guaranteed at least 2 points for participation and 5 points for qualifying for the semifinal run. International Canoe Federation
The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations worldwide. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. 157 countries are affiliated with the ICF after seven national federations were added at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome. In light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ICF suspended athletes from Russia and Belarus from competing at any International Canoe Federation events, and suspended all officials from Russia and Belarus from officiating at any event sanctioned by ICF, and from attending or taking part in any ICF meetings, committees, and forums. Franz Anton (born 23 October 1989) is a German slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2006. He specialized in the C1 class from the start of his career. Between 2012 and 2018 he was also competing in the C2 class together with Jan Benzien. Ana Sátila Vieira Vargas (born 13 March 1996) is a Brazilian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2011. Career She began sport training at the age of 4 and qualified for the Olympics at the age of 15. Satila participated in 3 Olympic Games. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Sátila was the youngest female competitor in canoe slalom. She competed in the K1 event, finishing 16th in the heats, failing to qualify for the semifinals. Jessica Esther "Jess" Fox (born 11 June 1994) is a French-born Australian world and Olympic champion slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008. Vojtěch Heger
Vojtěch Heger (born 23 August 2000) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2016. Heger competes in the C1 class and in kayak slalom, having initially competed in C2 alongside his older brother Tomáš and later with Antonie Galušková. Heger began paddling with KVS Hradec Králové in 2005, following his mother and brother into the sport. He moved to Brandýs nad Labem in 2015 and then to Prague, home of the Prague-Troja Canoeing Centre. He is currently studying physical education at Charles University.
