2019 Asian Games
The 2018 Asian Games ( id, Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018 or ''Asian Games 2018''), officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018 or Indonesia 2018, was a continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang. For the first time, the Summer Asian Games were co-hosted by two regions; the Indonesian capital of Jakarta (which was hosting the Games for the first time since 1962), and Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra province. Events were held in and around the two cities, including venues in Bandung and the provinces of West Java and Banten. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were held at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. Bandung Regency
Bandung Regency (''Kabupaten Bandung'') is an administrative landlocked regency located to the south, southeast, east and northeast of the city of Bandung. The northern parts of the Bandung Regency are effectively part of the Bandung Metropolitan Area (technically the whole of the Regency is within the Metropolitan Area), with the southern third being less urbanized and jutting upwards from the Valley, though not as sharply as the mountain range to the immediate north of Bandung. Korea At The 2018 Asian Games
South Korea and North Korea competed in some events at the 2018 Asian Games as a unified team, under the title "Korea" (IOC code: COR, from French name "Corée"). Both nations also marched together under a unified flag during the opening and closing ceremonies. Korea claimed their first gold medal at the Games in the women's 500m canoeing event. A demonstration sport, or exhibition sport, is a sport which is played to promote it, rather than as part of standard medal competition. Canoe polo, also known as kayak polo, is one of the competitive disciplines of kayaking. The sport is also known simply as "polo" by its players and supporters. The 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony was held on Sunday, 2 September 2018 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta.
