2018 Nordic Opening
The 2018 Nordic Opening or the third Lillehammer Triple was the 9th edition of the Nordic Opening, an annual cross-country skiing mini-tour event. The three-day event was the second competition round of the 2018–19 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Overall leadership The results in the overall standings were calculated by adding each skier's finishing times on each stage. On the sprint stage, the winners were awarded 30 bonus seconds, no bonus seconds were awarded on stages two and three. The skier with the lowest cumulative time would be the overall winner of the Nordic Opening. A total of CHF 240,000, both genders included, was awarded in cash prizes in the race. The overall winners of the Nordic Opening received CHF 22,500, with the second and third placed skiers getting CHF 17,500 and CHF 11,000 respectively. All finishers in the top 20 were awarded money. Marina Charlotte Kalla (born 22 July 1987 in Tärendö) is a Swedish cross-country skier who has been competing at international level since the 2003–04 season. Kalla is a three-time Olympian, winning her first Olympic gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the 10 km freestyle event in Vancouver. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi Kalla ran the final leg in the 4 × 5 km women's relay race and started third with a 25.7 seconds lag behind the first place but reduced the gap, overtaking her competitors in the final straight, earning Sweden the first gold medal in the women's relay event since 1968. Natalya Mikhaylovna Nepryayeva (russian: Наталья Михайловна Непряева; born 6 September 1995) is a Russian cross-country skier. Krista Pärmäkoski (née Lähteenmäki; born 12 December 1990) is a Finnish cross-country skier who has been competing since 2007. Among other career achievements, she is a five-time Olympic medalist. Career At the 2010 Winter Olympics, Pärmäkoski finished 26th in the 30 km and 53rd in the 10 km event. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, she finished 37th in the 10 km event. He has four overall World Cup victories, four Olympic gold medals, one World Championships gold medal and four Tour de Ski victories in his career. Iivo Henrik Niskanen (born 12 January 1992) is a Finnish cross-country skier who has competed in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup since 2011. He is a three-time Olympic champion. Career Iivo Niskanen made his individual World Cup debut on 12 March 2011, when he became 69th in a 20 km skiathlon in Lahti, Finland.
