2018 Leende Open
The 2018 Dynamic Billiard Leende Open, was the fourth Euro Tour 9-Ball pool event in 2018. The event was won by America's Shane Van Boening who defeated Albania's Eklent Kaçi 9–8 in the final. Unlike other Euro Tour events, the field was open to other nations outside of Europe. Van Boening became the only American after Johnny Archer in 2000 to win a Euro Tour event. In making the final, Eklent had been in the semi-final or better of the last 5 Euro Tour events. Ruslan Tschinachow was the defending champion, but did not reach the knockout stages of the event. A women's event held in Braga at the same time as the event was held in Braga, Portugal. The event was won by Kristina Tkach defeating Marharyta Fefilava in the final 7–0. Tournament format The event saw a total of 159 players compete, in a double-elimination knockout tournament, until the last 32 stage; where the tournament was contested as single elimination. Leende
Leende is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Heeze-Leende, approximately 12 km southeast of Eindhoven. History The village was first mentioned in 1253 as Lieende. The etymology is unclear. Leende is a village which developed in the Early Middle Ages along the Groote Aa. Skyler Woodward (born May 7, 1993) is an American professional pool player. At the 2017 World Cup of Pool, he was the runner up, alongside Shane Van Boening. Mateusz Śniegocki (born 3 January 1985 in Poznan) is a Polish professional pool player. Śniegocki is a former 10-Ball European champion and three-time winner of events at the Euro Tour. Career Śniegocki started playing billiards in a club called "Hades" in 1999, winning 5 national junior titles before 2005. Ralf Souquet ( ; born 29 November 1968) is a German professional pool player. His nickname is "The Kaiser". Since 1988, he has won more than 200 tournament titles, including 23 Euro Tour titles, 20 European Pool Championship and 12 German Pool Championship. Mark Gray (born 16 August 1973) is an English professional Pool (cue sports), pool player and former professional snooker player. Snooker career Born in 1973, Gray turned professional in 1992. He made little progress in any tournament until the 1997/1998 season, when he reached the last 64 at the German Open - losing 1–5 to Karl Broughton - the last 48 at the Thailand Masters, where Chris Small whitewashed him 5–0, and later made his first appearance in the last 32 at a ranking event, in the 1998 British Open. Corey Deuel (born November 20, 1977 in Santa Barbara, California) is an American professional pool player from West Jefferson, Ohio. Nicknamed "Prince of Pool", he won the US Open Nine-ball Championship in 2001, and has won many other major titles.
