2018 UCI Europe Tour
The 2018 UCI Europe Tour was the fourteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2018 season began on 25 January 2018 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 16 October 2018 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 1,124 points in the 2017 UCI Europe Tour, 2017 edition, is the defending champion from the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. Kristoffer Halvorsen (born 13 April 1996) is a Norwegian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career On 13 October 2016, Halvorsen won the Men's under-23 road race in the 2016 UCI Road World Championships. 2018 Halvorsen signed for after two seasons with the Norwegian continental team . Halvorsen was due to make his debut, in the Tour Down Under, leading his new team in the sprints. However, on 14 January, Halvorsen crashed at the People's Choice Classic, fracturing his hand and thereby ruling him out of the Tour Down Under. Pascal Ackermann (born 17 January 1994) is a German cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Born in Kandel, Ackermann joined the team in 2013, and spent four seasons with the team. In August 2016 announced that Ackermann would join them for the 2017 season. 2019 Bredene Koksijde Classic
The 2019 Bredene Koksijde Classic was the 17th edition of the Bredene Koksijde Classic road cycling one day race and the first edition of the rebranded Handzame Classic. It was held on 22 March 2019, starting and finishing in the titular towns of Bredene and Koksijde, respectively. Teams Eight UCI WorldTeams, fourteen UCI Professional Continental teams, and one UCI Continental team made up the twenty-three teams that participated in the race. Each team could enter up to seven riders, but , , and each entered five, while entered six. Of the 154 riders who entered the race, there were 137 finishers and two non-starters. The Bredene Koksijde Classic, previously Handzame Classic, is a European single day cycle race held in the Belgian region of Flanders, starting in Bredene and finishing in Koksijde. Having been a part of the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen from 2002 to 2010, race organisers decided to run the race as a single-day race from 2011 and organized as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Matteo Pelucchi (born 21 January 1989) is an Italian former professional road cyclist, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam . He also competed in track cycling at a junior level. Career He rode for a year with in 2012, and four years with between 2013 and 2016. In October 2016 he and IAM teammate Aleksejs Saramotins were announced as members of the squad for 2017. Adam Blythe
Adam Michael Blythe (born 1 October 1989) is an English former professional road and track racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2010 and 2019 for the , , , , and teams. Blythe began racing at a young age and went on to become a member of British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme. Amateur career Born in Sheffield, Blythe began cycling at a young age with the Sheffield Phoenix club. Cycling was a family activity, his sister Kimberley Blythe was also fairly successful as a young rider. Blythe became Derbyshire's Junior Sportsman of the Year in the East Midlands Sports Personality of the Year Awards, 2005. Blythe left British Cycling's Academy Programme by mutual consent in February 2008, and went to race in Belgium. He stayed with the ex-professional cyclist, Tim Harris, in Westmeerbeek, near Antwerp.
