2018 FIA WTCR Race Of Hungary
The 2018 FIA WTCR Race of Hungary was the second round of the 2018 World Touring Car Cup and the first running of the FIA WTCC Race of Hungary, FIA WTCR Race of Hungary. It was held on 28 and 29 April 2018 at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Hungary. The first and third races were won by Gabriele Tarquini and the second won by Jean-Karl Vernay. Entry list A total of 25 cars were entered, along with two Hungarian wildcard entries; Attila Tassi and Daniel Nagy (racing driver), Daniel Nagy. Hungaroring
The Hungaroring is a motorsport racetrack in Mogyoród, Pest County, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget – Budapest's largest park – but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. Construction works started on 1 October 1985. It was built in eight months, less time than any other Formula One circuit. The first race was held on 24 March 1986, in memory of János Drapál, the first Hungarian who won motorcycle Grand Prix races. Attila Tassi
Attila Tassi (born 14 June 1999) is a Hungarian racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup. Having previously competed in the SEAT León Eurocup, TCR International Series and Hungarian Suzuki Cup. Racing career Tassi began his career in 2012 in the Hungarian Suzuki Cup, he raced there until 2015. He switched to the SEAT León Eurocup for 2015, finishing 25th in the championship standings. In February 2016 it was announced that he would race in the TCR International Series, driving a SEAT León TCR for B3 Racing B3 Racing is a Hungarian auto racing team based in Mogyoród, Hungary. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta (Type 940) is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Alfa Romeo as a 5-door hatchback. Production started near the end of 2009 and the model was introduced at the March 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The Giulietta placed second in the 2011 European Car of the Year awards. Romeo Ferraris is an Italian tuning and auto racing team based in Milan, Italy. The team has raced in the TCR International Series, since 2016 TCR International Series, 2016, and in the FIA ETCR – eTouring Car World Cup, since 2021 Pure ETCR Championship, 2021. Tom Coronel
Tom Romeo Coronel (born 5 April 1972) is a Dutch professional racing driver. Tom's twin brother Tim is also a racer, just like their father Tom Coronel Sr. His most important results are winning the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 race in 1997, the Formula Nippon championship in 1999, and the 2006 and 2009 World Touring Car Championship Independents' Trophy. As of September 2016, Tom Coronel has driven over 1,000 races. He is currently still racing in the WTCC, where he won his first WTCC race in Okayama, Japan in 2008. After competing as an independent driver in a SEAT for many years Tom switched to BMW in 2011. Norbert Nagy
Norbert Nagy (born 23 December 1994 in Budapest) is a Hungarian racing driver currently competing in the European Touring Car Cup. He made his ETCC debut in 2013 and in 2016 finished 3rd in the Championship. Nagy has also raced in several WTCC events over the last few years. Racing career Nagy began his career in 2000 in karting. In 2010 he switched to the Hungarian Touring Car Championship, winning the F1.6 class that year. In 2011 Nagy raced in the Central European Zone Challenge, taking two race wins. Nagy switched to the SEAT León Supercopa Hungary in 2012, winning the championship in the end of the year. Zengő Motorsport is a Hungarian motor racing team founded by Zoltán Zengő. They currently compete in the World Touring Car Cup and others TCR championships. Aurélien Comte (born 11 September 1988) is a French racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series and the TCR BeNeLux Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the European Touring Car Cup, SEAT León Supercopa France and Renault Clio Cup France amongst others. Racing career Comte began his career in 2005 in Karting, he continued in karting until 2006.
