2017–18 Malaysia Purple League
2017–18 Malaysia Purple League (also known as SS Purple League for sponsorship reasons) is the fourth edition of Malaysia Purple League. It started on 18 December 2017 and will conclude on 11 February 2018. 2018 edition will features new format. It will consist of 28 league ties (each tie consisting of 5 matches) in Stage 1. Top six teams in Stage 1, then progressing to the Stage 2 (divided into 2 groups) to accumulates points. Finals stage featuring all six teams will be drawn accordingly to the overall accumulated points. Soong Joo Ven (; born 19 May 1995) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was part of the Malaysian team that won gold in the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event. Career 2011-2017 He won silver medal at the 2012 Asia Junior Championships in the boys' singles event after losing to Kento Momota of Japan. He was the runner-up of the 2015 Malaysia International Challenge tournament in the men's singles event, and in 2016, he also became the runner-up of the Scottish Open Grand Prix tournament. Ririn Amelia (born 24 December 1993) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club. She was the gold medalist at the 2011 Asian Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event with her partner Lukhi Apri Nugroho. Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub (born 19 July 1993) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was one of the players that helped the Malaysian team to win gold at the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships. Markis Kido (11 August 1984 – 14 June 2021) was an Indonesian badminton player and one of the world's leading in men's doubles discipline.
