Lim Chi Wing
Lim Chi Wing (born 11 April 1995) is a Malaysian badminton player who specifies in playing men's singles. He won a silver medal in the men's team event at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Career He started playing badminton when he was 7 before joining the Bukit Jalil Sports School. In 2014, he was called up to the national team. He won his first title at the 2014 Bangladesh International, defeating Subhankar Dey of India with a score of 21–12, 21–17. Later that same year, he won his second career title at the Vietnam International. Two years later, he would go onto achieve a runner-up position at the India International. He failed to defend his Vietnam International title as he lost to Vietnamese veteran Nguyễn Tiến Minh in 2 games. In August 2019, he left the national team to pursue his career as an independent player. 2018 BWF World Tour
The 2018 BWF World Tour, officially known as the 2018 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the first season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 26 tournaments which led up to the World Tour Finals tournament. It replaced the BWF Super Series and BWF Grand Prix, which was held from 2007 to 2017. It had 27 tournaments, which were divided into five levels: Level 1 was the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000 (three tournaments), Level 3 called Super 750 (five tournaments), Level 4 called Super 500 (seven tournaments) and Level 5 called Super 300 (11 tournaments). BWF World Tour
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. BWF Super Series
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end. The BWF World Junior Championships (also known as the World Junior Badminton Championships) is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world.
