2017–18 Armenia Basketball League A
The 2017–18 Armenia Basketball League A season, was the inaugural season of the new official competition of basketball first division in Armenia. Artsakh won the title after doing a perfect 6–0 in the playoffs. Competition format After several negotiations, finally seven teams joined the competition, consisting in a round-robin tournament where the best teams would qualify for the playoffs. The best teams are able for qualifying to the European competitions. The regular season consisted in a double-legged round-robin tournament where the first qualified would join directly the semifinals. The other six teams would face in the quarterfinals. 2018–19 Armenia Basketball League A
The 2018–19 Armenia Basketball League A is the second season of the basketball first division of Armenia. Artsakh are the defending champions. Competition format The regular season consists in a double-legged round-robin tournament where the six teams qualify for the playoffs. Teams Six teams will take part in the competition after the withdrawal of 3 teams -Engineer, Shirak and Grand Sport-, and the admission of 2 teams - Aragats and Erebuni-. Two teams were relocated: Urartu Vivaro from Yerevan to Vanadzor and Artsakh from Stepanakert to Yerevan. Regular season League table Results Playoffs The playoffs are played in a best-of-seven format, with the series starting 1–1 or 2–0 depending on the head-to-head games in the regular season. Mika Sports Arena
Mika Sports Arena ( hy, Միկա Մարզադահլիճ), is a multi-purpose sports arena located in the Shengavit District of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It has a capacity of 1,200 spectators. The arena was constructed in 2009 by the Mika Corporation Ltd., the owners of the currently-defunct football club Mika FC. It is located near the Mika Stadium. BC Grand Sport is a professional basketball team based in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded in 2011 by Grand Holding Co. Ltd., it currently plays in the Armenia Basketball League A. History BC Grand Sport was founded in 2011, when the new Grand Sport basketball complex opened in Yerevan, Armenia. The team started training and ultimately playing in junior categories from 2011, until it made its debut in the Armenia Basketball League A in 2017. Artik
Artik (Armenian: ), is a town and urban municipal community in the Shirak Province of Armenia. As of the 2011 census, the town had a population of 19,534. It was originally founded in 2017 in Stepanakert; the capital of the unrecognized Republic of Artsakh, as the basketball section of Artsakh FC, a Yerevan-based football club.
