2017 SEA Games Opening Ceremony
The 2017 Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony was held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 19 August 2017 at 20:17 MST ( UTC+8) which highlighted aspects of Malaysia's history and culture. The ceremony was directed by film director Saw Teong Hin alongside the Memories Entertainment creative team with co-operation from the Malaysian Armed Forces. The time 20:17 was chosen to start the opening ceremony to mark the year 2017, the year which Malaysia hosted the 29th Southeast Asian Games. Proceedings Welcome, national flag and anthem The opening ceremony begin with the arrival of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Sultan Muhammad V. Flag of Malaysia was raised of the Malaysia national anthem, Negaraku was instrumental by Malaysian Armed Forces band. Kuala Lumpur Tower
Kuala Lumpur Tower, also known as KL Tower and KL421 is a 15-story, 420.7-meter-tall telecommunication tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the world's 7th tallest tower, also, Malaysia and Southeast Asia's tallest tower. Its construction was completed on 1 March 1995. It features an antenna that increases its height to 420.7 metres (1,380 feet). The roof of the pod is at 335.7 metres (1,101 feet). The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant, providing diners with a panoramic view of the city. Races are held annually, where participants race up the stairs to the top. Kirstie Elaine Alora (born November 25, 1989) is a Filipina taekwondo practitioner. She represented the Philippines at the 2016 Summer Olympics after winning the silver medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifying Tournament. The swimming competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur took place at National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil. It was one of four aquatic sports at the games, along with diving, water polo, and synchronised swimming. Meanwhile, marathon swimming was held at the Putrajaya Lake. The 2017 Games featured competitions in forty events (20 events for men and 20 events for women). Mohammad Adi Salihin bin Roslan (born 30 May 2000) is a Bruneian wushu taolu athlete. He is the country's most decorated athlete at the SEA Games, having won gold medals three times. Career Adi claimed that Jet Li movies encouraged him to start learning wushu at the age of six. He started full-time training when he was eleven years old. Regarding the popularity of the sport, he stated, "People like the colours and the movement – and there are many different events to appreciate.
