Mohammad Adi Salihin
Mohammad Adi Salihin bin Roslan (born 30 May 2000) is a Bruneian wushu taolu athlete. He is the country's most decorated athlete at the SEA Games, having won gold medals three times. Career Adi claimed that Jet Li movies encouraged him to start learning wushu at the age of six. He started full-time training when he was eleven years old. Regarding the popularity of the sport, he stated, "People like the colours and the movement – and there are many different events to appreciate. Everyone enjoys wushu because it's very nice to watch." The manager said that winning an international tournament is always very encouraging, especially because one of the Roslan brothers is now competing well on the international scene with Muhammad Adi Salihin earning gold in the Pars Wushu Cup in Iran and silver at the Sukma Games last year. Wushu (sport)
''Wushu'' (), or ''Kung fu'', is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact combat sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928. "''Wushu''" is the Chinese term for "martial arts" (武 "Wu" = combat or martial, 術 "Shu" = art). In contemporary times, Wushu has become an international sport under the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), which holds the World Wushu Championships every two years. BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games
The BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games is a sporting biennial event between the regions of the four member countries of the BIMP-EAGA. The inaugural edition of the games took place in General Santos, Mindanao, Philippines from 25–27 April 1996. History The former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos proposed the said subregional economic co-operation initiative between the border areas of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines in order to accelerate the economic development between these countries. The planned cooperation came to fruition with the foundation of BIMP-EAGA on 24 March 1994. The first friendship game was inaugurated in General Santos, Philippines, on 25–27 April 1996. Subsequently, the second friendship games were held at Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia in 24–26 October 1997. Negeri Sembilan (, Negeri Sembilan Malay: ''Nogoghi Sombilan'', ''Nismilan'') is a state in Malaysia which lies on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. 2017 SEA Games Opening Ceremony
The 2017 Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony was held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 19 August 2017 at 20:17 MST ( UTC+8) which highlighted aspects of Malaysia's history and culture. The ceremony was directed by film director Saw Teong Hin alongside the Memories Entertainment creative team with co-operation from the Malaysian Armed Forces.
