2017 Cork Junior A Football Championship
The 2017 Cork Junior A Football Championship was the 119th staging of the Cork Junior A Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board. The draw for the 2017 fixtures took place on 11 December 2016. It was the first championship to include beaten divisional finalists. The championship ran from 9 September to 29 October 2017. The final was played on 29 October 2017 at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between Knocknagree and Erin's Own, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Knocknagree won the match by 2–19 to 2–10 to claim their third championship title overall and a first title in 26 years. Knocknagree's Anthony O'Connor was the championship's top scorer with 2-28. ''The Echo'', formerly known as the ''Evening Echo'', is an Irish morning newspaper based in Cork. Beara GAA is a division of Cork GAA, and is responsible for organizing Gaelic Athletic Association games in the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. Currently, the following clubs are part of the Beara division - Castletownbere, Adrigole, Urhan, Garnish, Bere Island and Glengarriff. It has no senior football team so the only representative in the Cork Senior Football Championship is the divisional team. Duhallow Junior A Football Championship
The Duhallow Junior A Football Championship is the top footballing competition in the Duhallow division in Cork. It was first run after the formation of the Duhallow division in 1933. The Championship includes a group stage, therefore every team has at least 2 matches. The winners and runner up of this competition go on to compete in the Cork Junior A Football Championship. Cullen are the title-holders after defeating Kanturk by 4-16 to 1-02 in the 2022 championship final played in Boherbue. Format Group stage The 6 teams are divided into two groups of three. Over the course of the group stage, each team plays once against the others in the group, resulting in each team being guaranteed at least two games. Duhallow GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division in the barony of Duhallow, County Cork, Ireland. This barony is situated in the northwest region of the county, and includes towns such as Kanturk, Millstreet, and Newmarket. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. Valley Rovers GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Innishannon in County Cork, Ireland. The club was formed in 1919 when two teams in the parish, Innishannon and Knockavilla, came together. The club fields teams in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football and Ladies' football. South East Junior A Football Championship
The South East Cork Junior A Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Carrigdhoun Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1929 for junior Gaelic football teams in the southeastern region of County Cork, Ireland. The series of games begin in April, with the championship culminating with the final in the autumn. The championship includes a group stage, insuring that every team plays at least 2 matches. The South East Junior Championship is an integral part of the wider Cork Junior A Football Championship. Carrigdhoun GAA is one of the eight baronies or Gaelic Athletic Association divisions that make up Cork. The division is made up of eleven Gaelic Athletic Association teams, making it one of the smaller divisions. The division is also known as the South East division. It extends from just south of Cork city down to Ballinspittle in the south of the county. The 11 teams are Ballinhassig, Ballygarvan, Ballymartle from Riverstick, Belgooly, Carrigaline, Crosshaven, Courcey Rovers from Ballinadee and Ballinspittle, Kinsale, Shamrocks from Ringaskiddy/ Monkstown, Tracton from Minane Bridge, and Valley Rovers from Innishannon. Kilbrittain GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Kilbrittain, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in Gaelic football and Hurling, but is primarily known for hurling. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions. The club is a member of Carbery division of Cork GAA. Kilmacabea is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the villages of Leap, County Cork, Leap, Glandore and Connagh in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. South West Junior A Football Championship
The Carbery Junior A Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bandon Co-op Carbery Junior A Football Championship) is an annual club Gaelic football competition organised by the Carbery Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by junior-ranked teams in West Cork, Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. Introduced in 1926 as the West Cork Junior Football Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament.
