Beara GAA
Beara GAA is a division of Cork GAA, and is responsible for organizing Gaelic Athletic Association games in the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. Currently, the following clubs are part of the Beara division - Castletownbere, Adrigole, Urhan, Garnish, Bere Island and Glengarriff. It has no senior football team so the only representative in the Cork Senior Football Championship is the divisional team. The division also competes in the Cork Minor Football Championship and the Cork Under-21 Football Championship. The Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Chorcaí) or Cork GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Cork and the Cork county teams. It is one of the constituent counties of Munster GAA. Cork is one of the few dual counties in Ireland, competing in a similar level in both football and hurling. However, despite both teams competing at the top level of the game for most of the county's history, the county hurling team has experienced more success, winning the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship on thirty occasions. The Cork Intermediate A Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Bon Secours Cork County Intermediate A Football Championship and abbreviated to the Cork IAFC) is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the second tier intermediate clubs in the county of Cork in Ireland. It is the fourth tier overall in the entire Cork football championship system. The Cork Intermediate Championship was introduced in 1909 as a competition that would bridge the gap between the senior grade and the junior grade. At the time of its creation it was the second tier of Cork football. In its current format, the Cork Intermediate Championship begins in mid summer. Beara Junior A Football Championship
The Beara Junior A Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Beara Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1927 for junior Gaelic football teams in the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. The championship is currently suspended due to the fact that there are no teams categorised as junior A in the division. The title has been won at least once by eight different clubs. John Lack O'Sullivan (1976 – 19 November 2002) was a Gaelic footballer and Australian rules footballer. Playing career The Adrigole GFC clubman was one of key players that won the Cork Junior Football Championship in 2002, but died in November 2002 before the final from a cardiac condition while swimming. Kevin Jeremiah O'Sullivan (born 1948) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a right wing-back at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Adrigole, County Cork, O'Sullivan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Cork under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 1968-69 league. O'Sullivan quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won one All-Ireland medal and three Munster medals.
