2016 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships
The 2016 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 80th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2017 competition. Championship (top division) The tournament took place in Russia from 6 May to 22 May 2016. Division I Group A was held in Katowice, Poland from 23–29 April 2016 and Group B in Zagreb, Croatia from 17–23 April 2016. Group A Group B Division II Group A was held in Jaca, Spain and Group B in Mexico City, Mexico from 9–15 April 2016. 2015 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships
The 2015 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 79th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition, which also served as qualification for division placements in the 2016 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships and to finalize seeding for 2018 Winter Olympics qualification. Championship The top division championship took place from 1 to 17 May 2015 with the participation of sixteen teams. Czech Republic hosted the event with games played in Prague and Ostrava. United Arab Emirates Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The UAE national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب الإمارات العربية المتحدة لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of the United Arab Emirates. It is operated under the UAE Ice Sports Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). As of 26 May 2019, the UAE is currently ranked 48th in the IIHF World Ranking and competes in Division III Group A tournament of the World Championships. History In June 2008, the UAE took part in the inaugural Arab Cup in Abu Dhabi, also involving the national teams of Algeria, Morocco, and Kuwait. The 2017 IIHF World Championship, the 2017 edition of the annual Ice Hockey World Championships, was held from 5 to 21 May 2017 in Cologne, Germany and Paris, France. The official tournament mascots were Asterix and Obelix, the main characters from popular French comic book series ''The Adventures of Asterix''.
