2016 Everest Premier League
The 2016 Everest Premier League was the debut season of the Everest Premier League. It was supposed to be the second edition of the Nepal Premier League, abbreviated as NPL, and was scheduled to be held from 26 March to 4 April 2015 in Kirtipur. but Cricket Association of Nepal insisted that it will not support the tournament unless its name is changed. Later, the board decided to uphold the tournament as the name was changed to Everest Premier League and provided the ground for competition. The tournament began on 24 September and ended on 3 October 2016. The title was won by Panchakanya Tej, who defeated Colors X-Factors by 40 runs in the final. Sompal Kami of Jagadamba Rhinos was player of the tournament. Teams Six franchise teams were formed under the names of corporate houses. Cricket Association Of Nepal
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is the official governing body of cricket in Nepal. It was suspended from 2016 to 13 October 2019 due to governmental interference. The ICC welcomed the elections of the board held in September 2019 and formally reinstated the board on a conditional basis on 14 October. Its headquarters is in Kathmandu, Nepal. Cricket Association of Nepal is Nepal's representative at the International Cricket Council (ICC) and remains an associate member, having been a member since 1988 AD (2045 BS). It is also a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The board was dissolved by the government of Nepal in November 2014 on the grounds of incompetence and a three-member ad hoc committee was established with a new president designated by the government itself. Siddhant Lohani ( ne, सिद्धान्त लोहनी) (born 2 March 1995) is a Nepalese cricketer. Lohani is a right-handed batsman and a leg break bowler. He made his debut for Nepal against Jersey in July 2015. He represents the Region No.1 Biratnagar of the National League, Colors X-Factors of the Nepal Premier League and Merryland College, which plays in the SPA Cup. Prithu Baskota ( ne, पृथु बाँसकोटा) (born 5 July 1992) is a Nepalese cricketer. All-rounder Prithu is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. He made his debut for Nepal against Maldives in November 2010. He represents the APF Club of the National League and GoldenGate International College, which plays in the SPA Cup. Dipendra Singh Airee ( ne, दिपेन्द्र सिंह ऐरी; born 24 January 2000) is a Nepalese cricketer. In August 2018, he was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands. Career He made his List A debut for Nepal against Kenya in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 11 March 2017.
