2016 Copa Constitució
The 2016 Copa Constitució is the 24th edition of the national football knockout tournament in Andorra. The tournament began on 21 February 2016 and ended on 15 May 2016 with the final. Format This year's version of the Copa Constitució was a single elimination tournament contested by 12 teams. Eight teams from the Primera Divisió and four from the Segona Divisió competed. The winner, UE Santa Coloma, earned a spot in the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League#First qualifying round, Europa League. Schedule First round Eight teams competed in the first round. Matches were played 21 February 2016. Quarter-finals Eight teams competed in the quarter-finals. Matches were played 28 February 2016. Semi-finals Four teams competed in the quarter-finals. Atlètic Club D'Escaldes
Atlètic Club d'Escaldes, also commonly known as Atlètic d'Escaldes, is an Andorran football club based in Escaldes-Engordany, currently playing in Primera Divisió. History Atlètic Club d'Escaldes was founded on 20 May 2002 in Escaldes-Engordany joining Segona Divisió the same year. At the end of 2003–04 season the club was promoted to Primera Divisió. During three seasons the club was playing in the top flight until 2006–07 season when it was relegated to Segona Divisió. The club came back in the top flight in 2019 after winning the 2018–19 Segona Divisió. L'Atlètic reached the 2021 Copa Constitució final but lost against UE Sant Julià 2-1. Again the club reached the finals the following season winning the 2022 trophy 4-1 against UE Extremenya. Colours and badge Blue is the traditional colour of the club. 2015–16 Primera Divisió
The 2015–16 Primera Divisió or Lliga Grup Becier, was the 21st season of top-tier football in Andorra. The season began on 27 September 2015. The defending champions were FC Santa Coloma, who won their ninth championship in the previous season. Teams Clubs and locations Personnel and sponsorship Competition format The participating teams first play a conventional round-robin schedule with every team playing each opponent once "home" and once "away" for a total of 14 games. The league is then split up in two groups of four teams with each of them playing teams within its group in a home-and-away cycle of games. The top four teams compete for the championship. FC Lusitanos, also known as Lusitans, was an Andorran football club from Andorra la Vella which was founded in 1999 and currently play in Segona Divisió. Lusitanos won their first Primera Divisió title in 2011–12 and its second national championship the following season. The club's name, crest and kit reflect its Portuguese identity. Unió Esportiva Sant Julià, also known as UE Sant Julià, is an Andorran football club based in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. FC Santa Coloma is an Andorran football team based in the village of Santa Coloma, in the parish of Andorra la Vella. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió, and is its current champion and most successful team with thirteen titles. It is also the most successful team in the Copa Constitució, winning it ten times. UE Extremenya is an Andorran football club based in the parish of La Massana. The club currently plays in Segona Divisió. History The club was founded in 1998 as CE Cerni. The club played the 1998–99 Campionat de Lliga, being relegated to the Segona Divisió at the end of the season. FC Encamp is an Andorran football club based in Encamp. Founded in 1950, it is the oldest football club of the Andorran First Division. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. Inter Club d'Escaldes is an Andorran football club based in Escaldes-Engordany. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió.
