Mayflower Curling Club
The Mayflower Curling Club, which was founded in 1905, since 1962 has been located at 3000 Monaghan Drive in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality in Halifax. The club is one of the premier curling rinks in Nova Scotia, being home to the teams headed by Colleen Jones, Mark Dacey, Shawn Adams, and Heather Smith-Dacey. The club was host for the curling events during the 2011 Canada Winter Games. In 1912 the club's then-premises on Agricola Street was used as a temporary morgue for the bodies of '' Titanic'' disaster victims recovered from the North Atlantic by the Halifax-based ship the '' CS Mackay-Bennett'', as it was the only site in the city that was both sufficiently large and cold enough for the task. Jennifer Baxter (curler)
Jennifer "Jenn" Baxter (born April 4, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. She currently plays third on Team Christina Black out of the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. Career Juniors During Baxter's junior eligibility years, she would only make one appearance at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. This appearance took place at the 2007 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where Baxter, playing lead for Marie Christianson, represented Nova Scotia. Her team failed to make the playoffs, finishing round robin with a 6-6 record. 2009–current Baxter would team up with and play second for Mary-Anne Arsenault at the start of the 2009/2010 curling season. Mark Dacey
Mark Dacey (born June 22, 1966) is a Canadian curler originally from Saskatchewan. He was based at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dacey is a former Canadian men's curling champion skip, having won the 2004 Nokia Brier. He defeated Randy Ferbey's team, ending their 3-year Brier winning streak. Dacey went on to win a bronze medal at the 2004 Ford World Curling Championship. Competitive history Mark Dacey was a runner-up in the 1995 Brier, as the vice-skip for team Saskatchewan (skipped by Brad Heidt). Representing Nova Scotia, he reached the 2001 Nokia Brier, finishing with a 6-5 record, and at the 2003 Nokia Brier in Halifax, he finished third during the round-robin, with a 7-4 record. Erin Porter (born February 13, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador. She currently plays third on Team Brooke Godsland. She is a five-time Newfoundland and Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion and two-time Newfoundland and Labrador junior champion. Career Porter made two appearances at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2009 and 2011, skipping in both years. In 2009, she led her rink to a 4–8 finish and in 2011, finished 5–7.
