Erin Porter
Erin Porter (born February 13, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador. She currently plays third on Team Brooke Godsland. She is a five-time Newfoundland and Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion and two-time Newfoundland and Labrador junior champion. Career Porter made two appearances at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2009 and 2011, skipping in both years. In 2009, she led her rink to a 4–8 finish and in 2011, finished 5–7. She also skipped the Memorial University curling team in two U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships, finishing 4–3 in 2011 and 2–5 in 2012. Out of juniors, Porter joined the Stacie Curtis rink at their happiness of freedom. The team played in the 2012 Newfoundland and Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts, losing in the semifinal to Laura Phillips. Truro, Nova Scotia
Truro (Mi'kmaq: ''Wagobagitik''; Scottish Gaelic: ''Truru'') is a town in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Truro is the shire town of Colchester County and is located on the south side of the Salmon River floodplain, close to the river's mouth at the eastern end of Cobequid Bay. History The area has been home to the Mi'kmaq people for several centuries. The Mi'kmaq name for the Truro area, "Wagobagitik" means "end of the water's flow". Mi'kmaq people continue to live in the area at the Millbrook and Truro reserves of the Millbrook – We’kopekwitk band. Acadian settlers came to this area in the early 1700s. The Mi'kmaq name for the Truro area was shortened by the settlers to "Cobequid", and the bay to the west of the town is still named Cobequid Bay. 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships
The 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were hosted by the Memorial University of Newfoundland and held in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 8 Teams in each gender competed at the Championship, including two from Western Canada, two from Ontario, two from Quebec, and two from Atlantic Canada, including the hosts Memorial University. 2015 GSOC Tour Challenge
The 2015 GSOC Tour Challenge was held from September 8 to 13 at the Paradise Double Ice Complex in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador. It was the first Grand Slam event of the 2015–16 curling season for both the men's and women's World Curling Tour. In the tier 1 events, Kevin Koe defeated Brad Gushue on the men's side, Koe's fourth slam title. Marie Christianson
Marie Christianson (born August 12, 1988) is a Canadian curler from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She currently plays third on Team Suzanne Birt. Career Christianson skipped Team Nova Scotia at two Canadian Junior Curling Championships, in 2007 and 2009. At the 2007 Canadian Junior Curling Championships she skipped the team to a tenth-place finish with a 6–6 record. The team placed ninth at the 2009 Canadian Junior Curling Championships with a 5–7 record. She played in her first Grand Slam of Curling event at the 2007 Sobeys Slam where her team failed to make the playoffs. She also played in the 2010 event, again missing the playoffs. Christianson moved to Newfoundland and Labrador to join the Stacie Devereaux rink in 2013 as the team's second. The team went 1–3 at the 2014 Newfoundland and Labrador Scotties Tournament of Hearts, not making the playoffs. Heather Martin
Heather Martin (born November 10, 1963, in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadians, Canadian curling, curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Career 1991–2000 Martin's first Scotties appearance was in 1991 Scott Tournament of Hearts, 1991, where she was an alternate for Cathy Cunningham. The team would finish 2-9 in round robin play. She would return to the Scott for four consecutive years, from 1994 to 1997 playing lead for Laura Phillips. From 1994 to 1996 the team would not make the playoffs, however, at the 1997 Scott Tournament of Hearts, they would finish round robin play with a 7–4 record advancing as far as the semi-final, where they would lose to Ontario's Alison Goring. 2000–2004 She would return to the Scott in 2002, 2003 and 2004, this time playing for lead for Cathy Cunningham. Lauren Wasylkiw
Lauren Wasylkiw (; born June 26, 1990) is a Canadian curler originally from Kleinburg, Ontario. She was the second for Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Career Women's Wasylkiw played second for the Brock Badgers, skipped by Courtney Hodgson, at the 2011 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. The team finished in second place, losing to the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, skipped by Laura Crocker. The following year, Wasylkiw returned as the second for the Brock Badgers at the 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, this time skipped by Joanne Curtis. They lost in the final to Laura Crocker and the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks for the second year in a row. 2013 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 16 to 24 at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston, Ontario. It was the ninth time Ontario hosted the Tournament of Hearts. Ontario last hosted the Scotties in 2010 in Sault Ste. Marie. In the final, Rachel Homan of Ontario defeated former Scotties champion Jennifer Jones with a score of 9–6 to claim her first Scotties title.
