2015–16 LPB Season
The 2015–16 LPB season was the 83rd season of the premier Portuguese basketball league, and the eight season under the current Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) format. The regular season was played between 10 October 2015 and 17 April May 2016, and was followed by the playoffs between 22 April and 28 May 2016. Porto defeated four-time defending champions Benfica 3–1 in the playoff finals to win their 12th national championship title, in the first season after being promoted from the second tier. Format A total of eleven teams played a first phase in a double round-robin format, with the odd team resting every matchday. In the second phase, contested in the same system, teams were divided into two groups according to their classification in the previous round: Group A comprised the six best-ranked teams and Group B included the remaining teams. FC Porto (basketball)
Futebol Clube do Porto (), commonly referred to as FC Porto, or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional basketball team based in Porto. Created in 1926, it is the senior representative side of the basketball section of multi-sports club FC Porto. The team competes domestically in the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) and internationally in FIBA Europe competitions, such as the Champions League and the FIBA Europe Cup. It plays its home matches at the Dragão Arena, alongside the club's handball and roller hockey teams, and is managed by Galician head coach Moncho López since 2009. Eléctrico (born August 21, 1986) is a Mexican ''Luchador'' '' enmascarado'' or masked professional wrestler who currently works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He is a former and the longest reigning Mexican National Lightweight Champion. Eléctrico's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. From 2006 to 2018 Eléctrico worked in CMLL's '' Mini-Estrellas'' division, however that does not mean that Eléctrico has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division. Angra do Heroísmo (), or simply Angra, is a city and municipality on Terceira Island, Portugal, and one of the three capital cities of the Azores. Barreiro, Portugal
Barreiro () is a city and a municipality in Setúbal District in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 78,764, in an area of 36.39 km2. Barreiro has a view of the city of Lisbon from Avenida da Praia and a riverside area called Alburrica. The mayor since 2017 has been Frederico Rosa, elected by the Socialist Party. The municipal holiday is June 28. History There are records of the village of Barreiro from as far as the 13th century, when the Military Order of Saint James of the Sword promoted its settlement. Due to the village's location, the main occupation of the population was harvesting salt and fishing. Pavilhão Fidelidade
The Pavilhão da Luz Nº 1, currently known as Pavilhão Fidelidade for sponsorship reasons, is the main arena (or pavilion) of Portuguese multi-sport club S.L. Benfica. It has a full capacity of 2,400 seats and is mainly used by the basketball, futsal and roller hockey departments of the club. Built at the same time as the new Estádio da Luz, it was designed from the start to replace the 37-year old Pavilhão da Luz, which was torn down in March 2003. Opened on 28 February 2004, during the celebrations of the club centenary, its first game opposed the basketball section against Ovarense. ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon. Although it covers most sports, football is the focal point of it, and almost always is the only sport referred to on the cover. History and profile ''Record'' was founded by Manuel Dias.
