2015 World Ladies Snooker Championship
The 2015 Eden World Women's Snooker Championship was a women's snooker tournament that took place at the Northern Snooker in Leeds, England, from 18 to 21 April 2015. The event was the 2015 edition of the World Women's Snooker Championship first held in 1976. The event was won by Hong Kong's Ng On-yee, who defeated Emma Bonney 6–2 in the final. The competition was sponsored by Eden Resources. Background The event featured eight groups of four or five players each, with the top two players from each group progressing. The event was split after the group stage, with players not reaching the main knockout tournament competing in a parallel "Plate" tournament. Matches in the group stage were three . The World Women's Snooker Championship (formerly known as the Women's World Open Championship from 1976 to 1981 and the World Ladies Snooker Championship from 1983 to 2018) is the leading tournament on the World Women's Snooker Tour. The reigning champion is Nutcharut Wongharuthai. Beginning in 2022, the women's world champion will automatically receive a place on the main professional World Snooker Tour. Ken Doherty
Ken Doherty (born 17 September 1969) is an Irish professional snooker player, commentator and radio presenter. As an amateur, Doherty won the Irish Amateur Championship twice, the World Under-21 Amateur Championship and the World Amateur Championship. Since turning professional in 1990, Doherty has won six ranking tournaments, including the 1997 World Snooker Championship in which he defeated Stephen Hendry, inflicting Hendry's first loss in a world final. Stuart Bingham
Stuart Bingham (born 21 May 1976) is an English professional snooker player who is a former world and Masters champion. Bingham won the 1996 World Amateur Championship but enjoyed little sustained success in the early part of his professional career.
