2015 Swedish Golf Tour (women)
The 2015 Swedish Golf Tour, known as the Nordea Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 30th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden and Norway. A number of the tournaments also featured on the 2015 LET Access Series (LETAS). Schedule The season consisted of 9 tournaments played between May and October, where two events were held in Norway. Olivia Cowan (born 9 April 1996) is a German professional golfer and member of the Ladies European Tour. She won the 2022 Hero Women's Indian Open and captained the winning team at the 2021 at the Aramco Team Series – London. Personal life Cowan's father, Andrew, is an English-born teaching professional in Germany. He taught her golf from the age of three. Amateur career As an amateur, Cowan played for the German National Team from 2011 to 2015. The Borås Ladies Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour and LET Access Series played between 2015 and 2016 in Borås, Sweden. Borås Golf Club hosted its first LET/LETAS event in 2015, after the club was slated to host the Borås European Masters on the 1987 Ladies European Tour but the event got stricken from the schedule. Ljunghusen Golf Club
Ljunghusen Golf Club is a links golf club located in Höllviken, Skåne County in Sweden. It has hosted the PLM Open on the European Tour. History The club is located on Sweden's southern tip, along the Baltic Sea. Its first six holes were built in 1932 and by 1965 the club was the first in Scandinavia to feature 27 holes. It is one of few links courses in Sweden and is repeatedly ranked one of the best courses in the country. The club has hosted the PLM Open on the European Tour as well as the Telia Grand Prix on the Challenge Tour. Tourfinal Vellinge Open
The Swedish Golf Tour Final, currently titled as The No. 1 Tour Final in Golf, is a golf tournament played as the season-ending championship of the Swedish Golf Tour. The Tour Final was introduced in the 2005 season, succeeding the Telia Grand Prix, a Challenge Tour event that had served as the season ending event for most years since 1996. The Swedish Golf Tour (women) had played the Telia Ladies Finale since 1997. Both were discontinued around the time tour sponsorship passed from Telia to Scandinavian Airlines and it became the SAS Masters Tour. Louise Friberg (golfer)
Louise Friberg (born 24 June 1980) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the United States-based LPGA Tour. Early years Born in a golfing family, Friberg started playing golf at young age at Rya Golf Club, outside Helsingborg, Sweden. Her father Mikael and her grandfather Björn were both elite golfers and each of them held a scratch handicap at the same time in the 1970s. Her grandfather Björn started the Swedish agency for Ping golf equipment, after he coincidentally met Karsten Solheim, when Björn tried to qualify for The Open Championship in England in 1971. Mikael continued to run the business until he retired after 45 years in 2016. Consequently, Friberg kept playing with Ping clubs through her entire career. Laura Beveridge (born 8 August 1988) is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour. She competed as Laura Murray until she married PGA Golf Professional Keil Beveridge in October 2021. She was runner-up at the 2022 Estrella Damm Ladies Open. Lynn Carlsson (born 7 May 1994) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She last played on the Ladies European Tour 2015–2019 and finished runner-up at the 2019 Women's NSW Open. Larvik Ladies Open
The Ladies Norwegian Open is a professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour and featured on the LET Access Series schedule in 2015 and 2016. Highlights The 2015 edition saw a record-breaking 14-hole sudden-death playoff between Johanna Gustavsson of Sweden and Natalia Escuriola of Spain. Both players recorded an opening bogey on the first playoff hole, the 368 yard par-4 9th at Larvik Golf Club, which they played three times before alternating between the 1st and 9th holes until the 10th extra hole. They then moved back to the 9th hole until Gustavsson was able to break the deadlock on the 14th extra hole with a birdie three. In 2016, the final day featured a special format, as it was played alongside the men's Norwegian Open over the Skjeberg course.
