2015 Speedway World Cup Race-off
The 2015 Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off was the third race of the 2015 edition of the Speedway World Cup. It was run on June 11 at the Vojens Speedway Center in Vojens, Denmark and was won by Poland from Great Britain, the United States, and Russia. As a result, Poland progressed to the 2015 Speedway World Cup Final, where they will join hosts and defending champions Denmark, Event One winners Sweden and Event Two winners Australia. Great Britain finished second, but were eliminated from the competition along with the United States and Russia. Poland were led to victory by stand-in captain Maciej Janowski, and he was well supported by Krzysztof Buczkowski, Przemysław Pawlicki and Bartosz Zmarzlik, who all scored double figures. Great Britain's Tai Woffinden was the star of the meeting, scoring an unbeaten 21-point maximum. Bartosz Zmarzlik
Bartosz Zmarzlik (; born 12 April 1995) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider and three-time World Champion (2019, 2020 and 2022). He has been decorated with the Order of Polonia Restituta, V class. Biography Born in Szczecin, Poland, Zmarzlik is the younger brother of former speedway rider Paweł Zmarzlik. Bartosz first came to the attention of the British speedway public when he was granted a wild card to race in the 2012 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland on 23 June. It was his first appearance in the Grand Prix series. He performed exceptionally well and became the youngest rider to ever appear on the podium in a Speedway Grand Prix, aged just 17 years and 72 days. He finished third that day scoring a grand total of 13 points. Greg Hancock
Gregory Alan Hancock (born June 3, 1970 in Whittier, California) is an American former professional motorcycle speedway rider. As of 2023, he was one of only six riders to have won the individual World Championship four or more times. In addition to his four Speedway World Championships he won the Speedway World Team Cup with the USA speedway team on three occasions. Hancock appeared in all but one of the Grand Prix series, since its creation in 1995 until 2019. Career Hancock first came to the United Kingdom at the end of the 1988 speedway season to ride exhibition races with fellow 18-year-old Californian Billy Hamill. It was during this time that Hancock agreed a deal to ride for Cradley Heath the following year – the same team that his mentor Bruce Penhall used to ride for. Giovanni Manzares (born 15 August 1993) is a speedway rider from the United States. Career Manzares has won three medals at the AMA National Speedway Championship, silver in 2021 and two bronze in 2013 and 2019. In addition to this success he has won the 2013 AMA Speedway Long Track National Championship and 2012 AMA U21 US Speedway National Championship. He also reached the final of the 2014 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. Manzares began his British racing career riding for Ipswich Witches in the 2014 Premier League speedway season finishing with a 6.02 average.
