The 2015 Dhivehi Premier League was the first season of the Dhivehi Premier League, the top division of Maldivian football. The season began on 20 April 2015. The league was made up of the 8 clubs that broke away from the Dhivehi League at the end of the 2014 season. New league sponsors From the start of the 2015 season, the Dhivehi Premier League was sponsored by Ooredoo Maldives. Teams A total of 8 teams will be contesting in the league, including 7 sides from the 2014 Dhivehi League season and one promoted from the 2014 Second Division Football Tournament. Dhivehi Premier League
Dhivehi Premier League is a Maldivian men's professional football league. At the top of the Maldives football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 10 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Second Division Football Tournament. Teams are playing 14 matches each (playing each team in the league twice) totalling 56 matches in the season. The competition formed as the Dhivehi Premier League succeeded the Dhivehi League. From 2018 onward 10 teams compete in Dhivehi Premier League. History Competition format Competition There are 10 clubs in the Premier League. Alif Dhaal Atoll
Alifu Dhaalu Atoll (also known as Southern Ari Atoll or Ari Atholhu Dhekunuburi) is an administrative division of the Maldives. The separation of Ari Atoll (formerly Alifu Atoll) on March 1, 1984, into a Northern and a Southern section formed the two most recent administrative divisions of the Maldives, namely Alifu Alifu Atoll and Alifu Dhaalu Atoll. Alifu Dhaalu Atoll lies south of the line between the channels of Himendhoo Dhekunukandu and Genburugau Kandu. Yordan Ivanov Stoykov ( bg, Йордан Иванов Стойков; born 6 November 1951) is a Bulgarian professional football player and manager. Mohamed Iqbal (born in 1940), better known as K. T. M. Iqbal, is a Singaporean poet and essayist. He was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 2014.
