2014–15 KML Season
The 2014–15 Alexela Korvpalli Meistriliiga was the 90th season of the Estonian basketball league and the second under the title sponsorship of Alexela. Kalev/Cramo came into the season as defending champions of the 2013–14 KML season. The season started on 4 October 2014 and concluded on 22 May 2015 with TÜ/Rock defeating Kalev/Cramo 4 games to 1 in the 2015 KML Finals to win their 26th Estonian League title. Teams Coaching changes Regular season During the regular season teams will play 4 rounds for 32 games (2 at home and 2 away) with following exceptions: * Kalev/Cramo will play 1 round at home and 1 away (1 at home and 1 away in total). * TÜ/Rock will play 1 round at home (1 at home and 2 away in total). * Audentes/Noortekoondis will play 1 round at home and 1 away (1 at home and 1 away in total). Rakvere
Rakvere is a town in northern Estonia and the administrative centre of the Lääne-Viru ''maakond'' (county), 20 km south of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. Rakvere is the 8th most populous urban area in Estonia. TÜ Spordihoone
University of Tartu Sports Hall ( et, Tartu Ülikooli Spordihoone) is a multi-purpose indoor arena complex in Tartu. It was opened in 1982 and is owned by the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club. It's located on the left bank of the Emajõgi Emajõgi (; meaning ''"Mother River"'') is a river in Estonia which flows from Lake Võrtsjärv through Tartu County into Lake Peipsi, crossing the city of Tartu for 10 km. Tartu
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia after the Northern European country's political and financial capital, Tallinn. Tartu has a population of 91,407 (as of 2021). Alar Varrak
Alar Varrak (born 20 April 1982) is an Estonian basketball coach and a former point guard. He is the assistant coach of Kalev/Cramo of in the VTB United League. Career Varrak was born in Jõgeva, and spent his short playing career in the Estonian League. In 2008 he became the assistant coach of Kalev/Cramo and succeeded Aivar Kuusmaa as the head coach on 24 November 2012. Varrak was fired from Kalev/Cramo in November 2017. In January 2018 he became the head coach of Lithuanian League team Dzūkija Alytus. He left due to health reasons in April. In July 2018 he was elected as the sporting director of the Estonian Basketball Association. He resigned from the sporting director position in July 2019 and signed with Russian Basketball Super League 1 team Ural Yekaterinburg. He was fired from the team in November 2019 due to poor results. Saku Arena
Unibet Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Haabersti subdistrict of the Estonian capital, Tallinn. Opened in November 2001, it is the largest multi-purpose hall in the country with around 7,000 seats but can hold up to 10,000 people. It generally hosts basketball games, as well as sport competitions, trade fairs, corporate events and concerts. The name sponsor for the arena is the Swedish sports betting company Unibet and the venue is owned by businessman Marcel Vichmann via his company Best Idea OÜ. BC Valga-Valka, also known as BC Valga-Valka/Maks & Moorits for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball club representing the twin towns of Valga, Estonia and Valka, Latvia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Valga Sports Hall. From 2015 to 2018 the team uniquely competed in both Estonian and Latvian domestic top leagues. History Valga Korvpallikool (Valga Basketball School) was founded in 2001. In 2006, the team won the third tier II Liiga and was promoted to the top tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Audentese SG/Noortekoondis (known as TSIK, Audentes and G4S Noorteliiga) is a basketball team based in Tallinn, Estonia. The team plays currently in the Saku I Liiga (Second division in Estonia), in the past Audentes SG/Noortekoondis played also in KML (First division in Estonia). BC Tallinna Kalev
Tallinna Kalev/TLÜ is a professional basketball club based in Tallinn, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League and Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Their home arena is the Audentes Sports Centre. History The team was founded in 2002 as Pirita. Coached by Kalle Klandorf, the team joined the top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) in the 2002–03 season. In 2002, Pirita reached the Estonian Cup final, but were defeated by University of Tartu 76–92. In 2008, Pirita joined the multi-sport club Kalev. The team adopted the name Tallinna Kalev prior to the 2008–09 season. The team signed power forward Travis Reed for the 2009–10 season, while former Estonia national team coach Üllar Kerde joined the coaching staff.
