2014 National Youth Competition (rugby League) Season
The 2014 NRL Under-20s season (known commercially as the 2014 Holden Cup due to sponsorship from Holden) was the seventh season of the National Rugby League's Under-20s competition. For the five years from the competition's inception, between 2008 and 2012, it had been known as the Toyota Cup. Holden became Naming Rights sponsors from 2013 onwards. The draw and structure of the competition mirrored that of the 2014 NRL Telstra Premiership. New Zealand Warriors
The New Zealand Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. They were formed in 1995 as the Auckland Warriors, and are officially known as the One New Zealand Warriors for sponsorship reasons. The Warriors are coached by Andrew Webster and captained by Tohu Harris. The Warriors are based at Mount Smart Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Penrose. For the 1995 season the newly formed Auckland Warriors became the first club from outside Australia to be admitted to the Australian Rugby League's premiership when it expanded from 16 to 20 teams. The 2014 New Zealand Warriors season was the 20th in the club's history. Coached by Matthew Elliott until he was replaced by Andrew McFadden in Round 6, and captained by Simon Mannering, the Warriors competed in the National Rugby League's 2014 Telstra Premiership. They finished the regular season 9th out of 16 teams, failing to make the finals for the third consecutive year. 2014 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 2014 Brisbane Broncos season was the 27th in the club's history. Coached by Anthony Griffin and co-captained by Justin Hodges and Corey Parker, they competed in the NRL's 2014 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season eighth (out of sixteen) to make it into the finals. The Broncos were then knocked out of contention in the first game of the finals against the North Queensland Cowboys.
