2014 Iowa Barnstormers Season
The Iowa Barnstormers season was the 14th season for the franchise, and their tenth in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Mike Hohensee and played their home games at the Wells Fargo Arena. The Barnstormers lost their last six games of the season, and failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, finishing with a 6–12 record. Mike Hohensee
Michael Louis Hohensee (born February 22, 1961) is a former professional football quarterback who played in the United States Football League, Canadian Football League, National Football League and Arena Football League. He most recently the head coach of the AFL's Portland Thunder. He played college football at the University of Minnesota, and was in the AFL for two seasons, from 1987 to 1988. Hohensee has been a head coach since 1990, beginning at the Washington Commandos. He has served as head coach of eight different arena football franchises, winning ArenaBowl XX with the Chicago Rush in 2006. Darius Reynolds
Darius Reynolds (born April 4, 1989) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a wide receiver for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL). He first enrolled at Reedley College before transferring to Iowa State University. He attended C. D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. DeJay Lester (born December 14, 1988) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Wyoming College career Lester began his college career at Snow College, as a defensive back and played a great deal as a true freshman on a National Champion-Runner Up team. Following his freshman season, he moved to wide receiver with the foreknowledge that he would need to redshirt based on the depth that was already in place at that position. In 2009, DeJay was an outstanding player Snow College. He was a great leader at his position group and played with the attitude and toughness that any coach would desire. Derik Steiner (born February 23, 1987) is an American football fullback (American football), fullback who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Morehead State Eagles football, Morehead State. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Blizzard of the IFL in 2010. He was later signed by the Trenton Steel of the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) in 2011. Brian Miles Reader (born May 24, 1989) is a former American football quarterback. He was signed by the Iowa Barnstormers as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at University of Idaho. College career Arkansas and JuCo Reader began his college career in 2007, as a preferred walk-on for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He redshirted for the Razorbacks and ran the scout team offense. When Houston Nutt departed from Arkansas for Ole Miss, Reader decided to transfer to Monterey Peninsula College. While at Monterey Peninsula, Reader assumed the starting quarterback role, and guided the Lobos to a 10-0 regular season record and a Coast Conference championship. Carson Coffman
Carson Coffman (born April 29, 1988) is a former professional football quarterback. Coffman was the starting quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats in 2009 and 2010. He took over the starting position after the departure of Josh Freeman, and again after the departure of Grant Gregory. Addition Financial Arena (formerly known as CFE Arena and UCF Arena) is a sports and entertainment arena located in Orlando, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. 2014 Pittsburgh Power Season
The Pittsburgh Power season was the fourth season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. They played their home games at the Consol Energy Center. The 2014 season marked the franchise's first-ever winning season, after the Power victory over the Philadelphia Soul, 57-56, on June 14. A week later on June 20, the Power clinched their first-ever playoff berth with a 57–27 win over the Iowa Barnstormers. The Power finished the regular season 15–3, but lost in their first-ever playoff game to the Orlando Predators in the conference semifinals by a 56–48 score. The team had been coached by Derek Stingley, however he was fired after a 63–53 loss to the Cleveland Gladiators in the team's first game of the season.
