Carson Coffman
Carson Coffman (born April 29, 1988) is a former professional football quarterback. Coffman was the starting quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats in 2009 and 2010. He took over the starting position after the departure of Josh Freeman, and again after the departure of Grant Gregory. He is the brother of Cameron Coffman, a 2011 high school quarterback prospect and Chase Coffman, former Missouri standout who formerly played tight end for the Seattle Seahawks and several other NFL teams. Carson is also the son of former Kansas State standout and NFL tight end Paul Coffman. College career Freshman (redshirt) (2006) Coffman redshirted the 2006 season. Chase Coffman
Chase Allen Coffman (born November 10, 1986) is a former American football tight end. He played college football for the University of Missouri, earned consensus All-American honors, and was recognized as the best college tight end in the country. He was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Early years Coffman was born in Lee's Summit, Missouri and played high school football at Raymore–Peculiar High School in nearby Peculiar, Missouri, Peculiar. Coffman had a great high school career receiving passes from his younger brother Carson Coffman, Carson. The Sunflower Showdown is the series of athletic contests between Kansas State University and the University of Kansas athletic programs, most notably football and men's basketball. The name is derived from the official nickname for the state of Kansas: the Sunflower State. The two schools compete each year for the Governor's Cup in football. The football series dates back to 1902, and has been played every year since 1911, making it the fourth-longest active series in NCAA college football. The University of Kansas built a large advantage in the series by 1923, and leads the overall series 64–50–5 or 65–49–5 (depending on whether a 1980 forfeit by KU is counted) as of the end of the 2021 season. Collin Klein
Collin Klein (born September 19, 1989) is an American college football coach and former quarterback who played for the Kansas State Wildcats. He appeared as a wide receiver for Kansas State during the 2009 season, and made his first career start at quarterback in a win against the Texas Longhorns during the 2010 season. Klein finished his college career ranked 15th all-time in career NCAA rushing touchdowns. Personal life Klein was born on September 19, 1989, to Doug and Kelly Klein. 2006 Kansas State Wildcats Football Team
The 2006 Kansas State Wildcats football team represented Kansas State University in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team's head coach was Ron Prince, in his first year at K-State after leaving his offensive coordinator position at Virginia. Prince had no other head coaching experience prior to accepting the K-State job. The Wildcats played their home games in Bill Snyder Family Stadium, which had previously been known as KSU Stadium but was renamed by the university's athletic department after Bill Snyder's first retirement following the 2005 season. 2006 saw the Wildcats finish with a record of 7–6, and a 4–4 record in Big 12 Conference play. Paul Coffman
Paul Randolph Coffman (born March 29, 1956) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end for ten seasons for the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL). After attending high school in Chase, Kansas, he walked on to Kansas State University where he played tight end for four years. After completing college Coffman became an undrafted free agent and joined the Green Bay Packers. Personal life His son, Chase, was an all star tight end for the University of Missouri and last played with the Indianapolis Colts until he was released in 2016.
