The San Jose SaberCats season was the 18th season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Darren Arbet and played their home games at the SAP Center at San Jose. The team was led by its league-best defense, which held eleven of its eighteen regular-season opponents to fewer than 40 points. Darren Arbet
Darren Arbet (born November 26, 1962) is a former Arena Football League head coach for the San Jose SaberCats and current general manager and head coach of the Bay Area Panthers of the Indoor Football League. He has a career record of 169-73, including four titles, ArenaBowl XVI, ArenaBowl XVIII, ArenaBowl XXI, and ArenaBowl XXVIII. Early life Arbet attended Edison High School in Stockton, California, where he was a standout in football and track & field. College career Arbet played four seasons for the Sacramento State Hornets football team from 1981 to 1985 as a defensive end. The Honda Center (formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) is an indoor arena located in Anaheim, California. The arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. Reggie Gray
Reggie Gray (born April 29, 1984) is an American football wide receiver and kickoff returner who is currently a free agent. High school Gray attended Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois, where he was a team captain and led his team to the 2001 City Championship, in which they defeated Dunbar in a shootout. He scored the game-winning touchdown on a 45-yard bomb with 41 seconds left in the game. He was an All-State wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. Dominique Curry (born August 16, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. After playing college football for California University of Pennsylvania, he was signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Early life Curry was a three-sport star (basketball, football and track) at George Washington High School in Philadelphia. College career Curry finished his collegiate career at California University (PA) in 2009 after playing three seasons at Cheyney University. Odie Armstrong (born September 30, 1981) is a former American football fullback. He played college football at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Orlando Predators in 2008. Early life Armstrong attended Vardaman High School where he was a standout on the football team. Nathan Thomas Stanley (born January 24, 1989) is a former American football quarterback. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at Southeastern Louisiana University after transferring from the University of Mississippi. Russ Michna
Russell Walter Michna (born February 3, 1981) is a former arena football quarterback. A two-time league champion of the United Football League (UFL), he is the only player that has been signed to a team in every current major professional football league: National Football League (NFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), UFL and AFL. Michna also played in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Michna played college football for Western Illinois University, leading the Leathernecks to back-to-back I-AA Playoff appearances. Wells Fargo Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Part of the Iowa Events Center, the arena opened on July 12, 2005, at a cost of $117 million. The Iowa Barnstormers season was the 14th season for the franchise, and their tenth in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Mike Hohensee and played their home games at the Wells Fargo Arena. The Barnstormers lost their last six games of the season, and failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, finishing with a 6–12 record. The Tampa Bay Storm season was the 27th season for the franchise in the Arena Football League, and their 23rd in the Tampa Bay area. The team was coached by Lawrence Samuels, following his promotion from offensive coordinator. They played their home games at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Finishing the regular season with an 8–10 record, the Storm failed to reach the playoffs for the third time in four seasons.
