2014 Clio Cup China Series
The 2014 Clio Cup China Series was a multi-event, one make motor racing championship held across China. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing drivers and gentlemen drivers in the region, competing in a Clio Renault Sport 200 that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. The 2014 season was the sixth Clio Cup China Series season. The season started on 22 March at Zhuhai International Circuit and concluded on 28 September at Shanghai International Circuit after ten races held at five meetings. In addition, the series went for the first time to the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. To add more excitement to the races, the series invited several celebrity drivers to take part including Hong Kong TV and movie star Alex Fong (方中信) and model Jacquelin Ch'ng (莊思敏). Clio Cup China Series
Clio Cup China Series is a one-make series held in China that featured Renault Clio since 2009. Originally begun by Renault Sport in Europe, managed and organized by Formula Racing Development (FRD) in China, the Clio Cup China Series is a one-make racing series featuring the Clio supermini car. Over the years, many experienced drivers from the region joined the race and even Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok Aaron Kwok Fu-shing (born 26 October 1965) is a Hong Kong singer, dancer and actor. Renault Clio Renault Sport
The Clio Renault Sport (or Clio RS for short) is a hot hatch produced since 1998 by Renault Sport, the high-performance division of French automaker Renault. It is based on the Clio supermini. The engine remained the same since the first Clio RS, a 2.0-litre straight-4 petrol engine, with an FF layout and a three-door hatchback body style. The latest version changed to a 1.6-litre engine with a five-door hatchback body style. Zhuhai International Circuit
Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) (simplified Chinese: 珠海国际赛车场; traditional Chinese: ) is located at Jin Ding town in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China. Motorsport started in Zhuhai when it hosted a race on its street circuit in 1993. Racing continued there until 1996 when the motor racing circuit was constructed and became China's first permanent motor race track with Formula One in mind. The circuit was designed by Australian company Kinhill Engineers Pty Ltd, the same group which created the Formula One circuit in Adelaide. The project manager for the project was Michael McDonough. The Shanghai International Circuit () is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai. The circuit is best known as the venue for the annual Chinese Grand Prix which was hosted from 2004 to 2019 and was scheduled again from 2024 onwards, but its race was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. Alex Fong Chung-sun (; born 17 March 1963) is a Hong Kong actor. He married actress Hoyan Mok in 2008; they have one daughter. Incidents Fong has been a brand representative of DOXA, a brand of watches since 2008. Naomi Schiff
Naomi Schiff (born 18 May 1994) is a Rwandan and Belgian racing driver and television presenter. She was born in Belgium, to a Belgian father and Rwandan mother, grew up in South Africa, and now lives in the United Kingdom. "Kenneth" Lau Chi Yung (born 6 June 1960) is a Hong Kong racing driver and businessman currently competing in the TCR Asia Series and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. Having previously competed in the Asian Touring Car Series, Clio Cup China Series and Hong Kong Touring Car Championship amongst others. Racing career Lau began his career in 2004 in the Asian Formula Renault Series. He raced in the series for many years, finishing 8th in the Masters standings in 2014.
