2013–14 Villanova Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team represented Villanova University in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by the school's 13th head coach Jay Wright, the Wildcats participated in the newly organized Big East Conference and played their home games at The Pavilion, with some select home games at the Wells Fargo Center. They finished the season 29–5, 16–2 in Big East play to win the regular season Big East championship. They were upset in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament by Seton Hall. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Milwaukee in the second round before losing in the third round to eventual National Champions UConn. Jay Wright (coach)
Jerold Taylor "Jay" Wright Jr. (born December 24, 1961) is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach of Villanova University from 2001 until 2022. Wright led the Villanova to six Big East Conference championships and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances in his 21 seasons as head coach. Under Wright, Villanova reached four Final Fours (2009, 2016, 2018, 2022) and won two National championships in 2016 and 2018. Wright is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in NCAA history and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 2021 class. He previously served as head coach at Hofstra University (1994–2001), leading the program to NCAA tournament appearances in both 2000 and 2001. The 2013–14 Lafayette Leopards men's basketball team represented Lafayette College during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Leopards, led by 19th year head coach Fran O'Hanlon, played their home games at the Kirby Sports Center and were members of the Patriot League. they finished the season 11–20, 6–12 in Patriot League play to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place. West Chester Golden Rams
The West Chester Golden Rams represent West Chester University of Pennsylvania, which is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in intercollegiate sports. They compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II. The university currently fields 23 varsity Division II men's and women's teams. The men's basketball team is coached by Damien Blair and won its first NCAA Division II Tournament game in 2018. In 2019–20, the team was ranked eighth and began the season on a 13-game win streak.
