2013 Salzburg State Election
The 2013 Salzburg state election was held on 5 May 2013 to elect the members of the Landtag of Salzburg. The governing coalition of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) suffered huge losses. The SPÖ lost suffered a swing of almost 16 percentage points, while the ÖVP lost 7.5; despite its losses, the latter became the largest party in the Landtag. The Greens – The Green Alternative, The Greens were the main beneficiary of the government's collapse, taking 20% of votes, their best ever result. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) made modest gains, while Team Stronach debuted at 8.3%. Despite its losses, the ÖVP led by Wilfried Haslauer Jr. was the clear victor of the election. Walter Steidl
Walter Steidl (28 August 1957) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ) and has been a deputy of the Salzburger Landtag since 1999. He was chairman of the SPÖ-Landtagsfraktion from 2007–2009. Steidl graduated from an Electrician apprenticeship in 1972 and continued practicing his profession until 1978. In the period from 1983 to 1984 he graduated from the Social Academy in Vienna and since July 2003 has been director of the Gewerkschaft der Privatangestellten (Union of salaried employees), printing, journalism and paper (GPA-djp) Salzburg. Tamsweg District
Bezirk Tamsweg is an administrative district (''Bezirk'') in the federal state of Salzburg, Austria. It is congruent with the Lungau region (). The administrative centre of the district is Tamsweg. Geography The area of the Lungau plateau is 1,019.69 km², with a population of 21,283 (May 15, 2001), and population density 21 persons per km². It is located within the Central Eastern Alps, confined by the Hohe Tauern (High Tauern) range in the west, the Niedere Tauern (Low Tauern) in the north, and the Gurktal Alps (Nock Mountains) in the south. The Pirate Party of Austria (german: Piratenpartei Österreichs, PIRAT) is a political party in Austria and part of the global Pirate Party movement which advocates what has come to be known as Pirate politics.
