Walter Steidl
Walter Steidl (28 August 1957) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ) and has been a deputy of the Salzburger Landtag since 1999. He was chairman of the SPÖ-Landtagsfraktion from 2007–2009. Steidl graduated from an Electrician apprenticeship in 1972 and continued practicing his profession until 1978. In the period from 1983 to 1984 he graduated from the Social Academy in Vienna and since July 2003 has been director of the Gewerkschaft der Privatangestellten (Union of salaried employees), printing, journalism and paper (GPA-djp) Salzburg. Previously, he was secretary of the GPA. Since 1995, Steidl was a deputy in the Salzburger Landtag and committee speaker for the labor market, Energy and Sports. The ''Salzburger Nachrichten'' is a German language daily newspaper published in Salzburg, Austria. It has been in circulation since 1945. History and profile ''Salzburger Nachrichten'' was established in 1945 by the American forces occupying Austria following World War II. The first issue appeared on 25 October that year. It remained under the control of the US Information Services Branch for a long time. When the paper became under the Austrian supervision, its early contributors were Viktor Reimann, Ilse Leitenberger and Alfons Dalma who were affiliated with the anti-Fascist groups during World War II. Gabi Burgstaller (born 23 May 1963) is an Austrian politician, and the former governess (''Landeshauptfrau'') of the Salzburg (state), State of Salzburg. Life She was born in Penetzdorf/Niederthalheim near Schwanenstadt in Upper Austria. After matriculation at a high school in Gmunden and one year abroad in England, she studied law at the University of Salzburg. From 1987 until 1989, she worked as an assistant at the Institutes for Constitutional and Administrative Law, and Sociology of Law respectively at the same university. From 1989, Mrs. Burgstaller worked as a consumer consultant at the Salzburg Chamber of Labour.
