The 2012–13 SC Preußen Münster season is the 106th season in the club's football history. Review and events In 2012–13 the club plays in the 3. Liga, the third tier of German football. It is the club's second season in this league, having been promoted from the Regionalliga in 2011. The club also took part in the 2012–13 edition of the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup, where it reached the second round and will face Bundesliga side FC Augsburg next. The club had knocked out Bundesliga club Werder Bremen in the first round with a 4–2 victory. Preußen Münster also takes part in the 2012–13 edition of the Westphalia Cup, having reached the second round against DSC Wanne-Eickel after a 5–0 win over TuS Hiltrup in the first round. SC Preußen Münster (English: Prussia Münster) is a German sports club based in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia which is mostly recognised for its football section. The football team currently plays in Regionalliga West which is the fourth tier in German football. Preußen Münster also fields teams in tennis, athletics, handball and fistball. History The club was founded as FC Preußen on 30 April 1906 and has its roots in a group formed at the Johann-Conrad-Schlaun Grammar School. Historians consider patriotic reasons for naming the club after Prussia. At first the club did not have its own ground and was playing at a parade ground of the army at Loddenheide. VfL Sportfreunde Lotte is a German association football club from Lotte, North Rhine-Westphalia. The football team is part of a sports club with approximately 1400 members and departments for handball, walking, gymnastics, and swimming, as well as other activities. History The association was established as the gymnastics club ''Turnverein Lotte'' in 1929. After World War II the club was re-established as ''VfL Sportfreunde Lotte'' on 9 February 1946 and was built around football and handball departments. ''Lotte'' reached the Verbandsliga Westfalen (V) in 1996 and after a title there in 2004 were promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen (IV), later Regionalliga West. Philip Michael Heise (born 20 June 1991) is a German professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Karlsruher SC. Club career Heise began his career with the second team at Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2010–11 season. After two seasons at Preußen Münster he joined FC Heidenheim in the summer of 2013. For the 2015–16 season Heise moved to VfB Stuttgart. He joined Dynamo Dresden on 10 January 2017. Amaury Armindo Bischoff (born 31 March 1987) is a professional footballer who plays for French club SR Colmar as a central midfielder. Matthew Taylor (born October 17, 1981) is an American soccer coach and former player who currently serves as an assistant coach for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer. College career Born in Columbus, Ohio, Taylor grew up in Irvine, California and played college soccer at UCLA from 2000 to 2003. Taylor was mostly a substitute his first year, but earned a larger role as a sophomore, finishing the season with seven goals and two assists.
