The 2012–13 Fortuna Düsseldorf season is the 118th season in the club's football history. In 2012–13 the club plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football. It is the clubs first season back in this league, having been promoted from the 2. Bundesliga in 2012. Fortuna Düsseldorf beat Hertha BSC in the promotion/relegation Playoff to earn a spot in the 2012–13 Bundesliga season. Düsseldorfer Turn- und Sportverein Fortuna 1895 e.V., commonly known as Fortuna Düsseldorf (), is a German football club in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, which competes in the 2. Bundesliga. Founded in 1895, Fortuna entered the league in 1913 and was a fixture in the top flight from the early 1920s up to the creation of the Bundesliga in 1963. 2022–23 will be their third season in a row in the 2. DFB-Pokal
The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The competition was founded in 1935, then called the '' Tschammer-Pokal''. The first titleholders were 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1937, Schalke 04 were the first team to win the double. The Tschammer-Pokal was suspended in 1944 due to World War II and disbanded following the demise of Nazi Germany. Robert Hartmann (born 8 September 1979) is a German football referee who is based in Wangen im Allgäu. He referees for SV Krugzell of the Bavarian Football Association. Refereeing career Hartmann, official for SV Krugzell of the referee group Kempten/Oberallgäu, has been a DFB official since 2005. He made his debut in the 2. Bundesliga in 2007. Hartmann was then appointed as a Bundesliga referee in early 2011. His debut match was on 19 February 2011 between SC Freiburg and VfL Wolfsburg. Thorsten Kinhöfer (born 27 June 1968) is a former German football referee in the Fußball-Bundesliga. Refereeing career Kinhöfer is appointed to matches under the auspices of the German FA since 1994. Knut Kircher (born 2 February 1969) is a former German football referee who is based in Rottenburg am Neckar. He refereed for TSV Hirschau of the Württemberg Football Association. Refereeing career In 1998, he became a referee in the 2. Bundesliga. Kircher was then promoted to referee in the German Bundesliga for the 2001–02 season. In 2004, he became a FIFA referee. Dani Schahin (born 9 July 1989) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Born in the Soviet Union, he represented Germany at youth international levels. Early life Schahin was born in Donetsk to a Palestinian father and Russian mother, but grew up in Baalbek in Lebanon until 1996 when his family moved to Teltow-Fläming in Germany.
