2012 V8 Supercars Albert Park Challenge
The 2012 V8 Supercars Albert Park Challenge was a motor race for the Australian sedan-based V8 Supercars. It was a stand-alone event not part of the 2012 International V8 Supercars Championship but it was attended by all of the International Championship's teams. The event was held as the principal support event of the 2012 Australian Grand Prix. The event was won by Ford Performance Racing's lead-driver Mark Winterbottom after winning the qualifying race and the second and third races of the event. Fifth place in the final race was enough to claim a two-point win over Shane van Gisbergen of Stone Brothers Racing despite Van Gisbergen winning the fourth race. Jamie Whincup (born 6 February 1983) is an Australian professional racing driver competing in the Supercars Championship. He currently is team principal for Triple Eight Race Engineering. He has driven the No. 88 Holden Commodore (ZB), Holden ZB Commodore, won a record seven Supercars championship titles, four Bathurst 1000 victories, and a Bathurst 12 Hour victory. Whincup is the all-time record holder in the Supercars Championship for race wins, at 124 career wins. 2012 Falken Tasmania Challenge
The 2012 Falken Tasmania Challenge was a motor race for the Australian sedan-based V8 Supercars. It was the second event of the 2012 International V8 Supercars Championship. It was held on the weekend of 30 March–1 April at the Symmons Plains Raceway, near Launceston, Tasmania. Race 3 of the championship was won by Victorian Ford driver Will Davison from Ford Performance Racing. Race 4, held the following day was won by fellow Victorian, Jamie Whincup driving a Holden for Triple Eight Race Engineering. The 2012 Clipsal 500 was a motor race for the Australian sedan-based V8 Supercars. It was the first event of the 2012 International V8 Supercars Championship, and the fourteenth running of the Clipsal 500. It was held on the weekend of 1–4 March at the Adelaide Street Circuit, in Adelaide, South Australia. Russell Ingall
Russell Ingall (born 24 February 1964 in London, England) is a former full-time Australian V8 Supercar driver. He won his V8 Supercars title in 2005, and finished second in 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2004. Ingall has also won the Bathurst 1000, in 1995 and 1997. His particular driving style earned him the nickname "Enforcer". Early years Ingall was born in England and moved to Port Adelaide in South Australia with his father at the age of three. His father was a motor mechanic and operated a service station, his mother passed away from breast cancer at a young age. Ingall began his motor racing career at age 12 competing at the Whyalla go-kart track in South Australia. Taz Douglas (born 11 February 1984) is a part-time Australian race driver. Douglas came 2nd at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with James Moffat in 2014 Douglas was born in Frankston, Victoria, Australia. Having scored numerous karting titles in his junior years - including the Ford Kart Stars Series in 2000. He returned to motorsport in 2005, making his Formula Ford debut in the Victorian Championship, finishing fourth. Karl Reindler
Karl Reindler (born 18 April 1985) is an Australian racing driver, who has previously competed in the Supercars Championship. He currently shares duties with Bruno Correia as the Medical Car driver for Formula One. Biography Formula Three Off the back of winning Rookie of the Year in the 2003 Australian Formula 3 Championship, Reindler went on to win the 2004 Championship in the final round. James Courtney
James Anthony Courtney (born 29 June 1980) is an Australian racing driver competing in the Supercars Championship, Repco Supercars Championship. He currently drives the No. 5 Ford Mustang (sixth generation), Ford Mustang GT for Tickford Racing. Courtney won the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series driving for the Dick Johnson Racing team. 2012 International V8 Supercars Championship
The 2012 International V8 Supercar Championship (often simplified to the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship) was an FIA sanctioned international motor racing series for V8 Supercars. It was the fourteenth running of the V8 Supercar Championship Series and the sixteenth series in which V8 Supercars have contested the premier Australian touring car title.
