The 2012 Gulf Ice Hockey Championship was the second Gulf Ice Hockey Championship. It took place between 28 May and 1 June 2012 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates men's national ice hockey team, United Arab Emirates won the tournament after defeating Kuwait men's national ice hockey team, Kuwait in the gold medal game, claiming their second title of the championships. Oman men's national ice hockey team, Oman finished third after defeating Bahrain men's national ice hockey team, Bahrain in the bronze medal game. 2010 Gulf Ice Hockey Championship
The 2010 Gulf Ice Hockey Championship was the first Gulf Ice Hockey Championship. It took place between 25 May and 30 May 2010 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The United Arab Emirates won the tournament winning all three of their games and finishing first in the standings. Kuwait finished second and Saudi Arabia finished in third place. The Gulf Ice Hockey Championship, also known as the GCC Gulf Ice Hockey Championships, is an international ice hockey competition involving countries from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The UAE national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب الإمارات العربية المتحدة لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of the United Arab Emirates. The Kuwait national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب الكويت لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of Kuwait. The team is controlled by the Kuwait Ice Hockey Association and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 8 May 2009. The Omani national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب عمان لهوكي الجليد), nicknamed '' The Khanjars'' ( ar, الخنجر ''Al-Khanajar''), is the national ice hockey team of Oman. Bahrain Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Bahraini national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب البحرين لهوكي الجليد) is the national ice hockey team of Bahrain. History Bahrain played its first game in a 2010 exhibition game against Kuwait in which they lost, 10–3. The following year, Bahrain competed in the Premier Division of the 2011 Asian Winter Games. In the first two games they were beaten by Malaysia (25–0) and by Thailand (29–0). They finished the tournament losing all six of their games and placing last on the table. Zayed Sports City Stadium ( ar, ستاد مدينة زايد الرياضية) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The largest stadium in the UAE with 45,000 seats, it has iconic status and was featured on the AED 200 banknote. The Saudi Arabia national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب المملكة العربية السعودية لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is not a member of the IIHF and therefore not eligible to enter any IIHF World Championship events. History The Saudi Arabian Nationals first played ice hockey in the early 1990s. Overtime is a method of determining a winner in an ice hockey game when the score is tied after regulation.
