2011–2012 Israel Football League Season
The 2011–2012 Israel Football League was the fifth season of the Israel Football League (IFL). The league expanded to ten teams with two expansion teams; the Petah-Tikva Troopers and the Nahariya Northern Stars. The season concluded with the Tel Aviv Sabres defeating the Tel Aviv Pioneers in Israel Bowl V. Regular season The regular season consisted of 10 games for each team. Israel Football League
The Israel Football League (IFL; he, ליגת הפוטבול הישראלית), also known as the Kraft Family Israel Football League for sponsorship reasons with the Kraft Family, is an amateur American football league consisting of eight teams. The IFL is the highest level of American football in Israel and each season culminates in the Israel Bowl. The Tel Aviv Pioneers are the reigning Israel Bowl champions, having defeated the Jerusalem Lions in Israel Bowl XIV for their third championship. Petah Tikva ( he, פֶּתַח תִּקְוָה, , ), also known as ''Em HaMoshavot'' (), is a city in the Central District (Israel), Central District of Israel, east of Tel Aviv. It was founded in 1878, mainly by Haredi Judaism, Haredi Jews of the Old Yishuv, and became a permanent settlement in 1883 with the financial help of Edmond James de Rothschild, Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Jerusalem Kings
The Jerusalem Kings were an amateur American football team based in Jerusalem and a member of the Israel Football League (IFL). The team played its home games at Kraft Family Stadium. A year after a rule was instituted limiting the number of foreigners on a roster, the team disbanded after the 2014–2015 season. Most players who wished to continue playing in the IFL joined the Judean Rebels. The Ramat HaSharon Hammers are an amateur American football team based in Ramat HaSharon, Israel, playing in the Israel Football League (IFL). The Hammers were founded by former Tel Aviv Sabres Head Coach David Miller and were established in 2010 as the eighth expansion team to enter play in the IFL. In October 2010 the team became a part of the IFL and started playing its first season. With its first game, the team got an historical victory over the Jerusalem Kings 38–8.
