2011–12 Manhattan Jaspers Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan College during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by first year head coach Steve Masiello, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Basketball tournament to Siena. Steve Masiello
Stephen John Masiello Jr. (born September 2, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and a former player. He most recently served as men's head coach at Manhattan College. Masiello is a native of White Plains, New York. He graduated from Iona Grammar School in 1991 and attended Archbishop Stepinac High School for two years before transferring to the Harvey School in Katonah. Masiello played collegiately as a Walk-on (sports), walk-on at Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky for coaches Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith from 1996 to 2000. Though he rarely played, he was a member of two Final Four teams, including the 1997–98 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team, 1997–98 Wildcats team that won the national championship. Kevin Atlas (formerly Kevin Clinton Laue; born April 13, 1990) is an American former college student and basketball player at Manhattan College. He is tall. He was born missing half of one arm and has been recognized for his skills and success in overcoming adversity. In the 2008–2009 season he played at a military academy in Virginia and was a prospect for collegiate play. In March 2009 he received a scholarship to play Division I basketball for Manhattan College. A documentary film titled '' Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story'' was released in 2012. Roslyn ( ) is a village in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is the Greater Roslyn area's anchor community.
