2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place from September 7–11, 2011 in Bratislava, Slovakia under the auspices of International Canoe Federation. It was the 34th edition. Bad weather conditions on September 7 and 8 forced the organizers to make changes to the schedule. The events were all held over the remaining three days of the Championships. ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships are an international event in canoeing organized by the International Canoe Federation. The World Championships have taken place every year in non- Summer Olympic years since 2002. From 1949 to 1999, they had taken place in odd-numbered years. The 2001 championships were scheduled to take place in Ducktown, Tennessee (East of Chattanooga) from 20 to 23 September, but were canceled in the wake of the September 11 attacks. Men race in single kayaks (K1) and single canoes (C1) both individually and in teams. Women race in K1 both individually and in teams and since the 2010 championships also in C1 individually. A team event was scheduled for those championships, but it was canceled because of weather conditions. Stanislav Ježek
Stanislav Ježek (; born 21 November 1976 in Prague) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1994. He won eight medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (C1 team: 2002), a silver (C1 team: 2006), and six bronzes (C1: 2006, C1 team: 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011). He is the overall World Cup champion in C1 from 1999 and 2011. He also won a total of 7 medals at the European Championships (1 gold, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes). Ježek also competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the C1 event, he finished fourth in the qualification round, thus progressing to the semifinals. In the semifinals he finished second, managing to reach the top eight and the final round. In the final he finished fifth. Ján Bátik (born 17 January 1986 in Liptovský Mikuláš) is a retired Slovak slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 2002 to 2018. He competed in the C1 event until 2005. He raced in the C2 event together with Tomáš Kučera from 2006 until 2018, when the discipline was discontinued. He also competed in the mixed C2 event alongside Soňa Stanovská in 2017 and 2018. Bátik won five medals in the C2 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (2009), three silvers (2011, 2013, 2014) and a bronze (2007). Nicolas Peschier
Nicolas Peschier (born 16 May 1984, in Guilherand-Granges) is a French slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1999 to 2016. In the early part of his career he was specializing on the C1 class. He also competed in the C2 class from 2011 to 2015 together with Pierre Labarelle. He won five medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with three golds (C1 team: 2007; C2 team: 2011, 2014), a silver (C1 team: 2009) and a bronze (C1 team: 2013). He also won eight medals at the European Championships (3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes). Peschier won the overall World Cup title in the C2 class in 2012. Pierre Labarelle (born 19 September 1982) is a French slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1999 to 2015. In the early part of his career he was specializing on the C1 class. He started competing in the C2 class in 2011 when he teamed up with Nicolas Peschier. He won four gold medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships (C1 team: 2005, 2007; C2 team: 2011, 2014). Peter Škantár (born 20 July 1982) is a retired Slovak slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1998 to 2018, along with his cousin Ladislav Škantár in the C2 class. They retired from canoe slalom in 2018 after the C2 event was discontinued and subsequently switched to wildwater canoeing. They announced retirement from wildwater canoeing during the 2021 World Championships in their hometown Bratislava where they didn't start due to Ladislav's injury. Peter Hochschorner (born 7 September 1979) is a retired Slovak Canoe slalom, slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1996 to 2017. Competing together with his twin brother Pavol Hochschorner, they are the most successful C2 paddlers in the history of canoe slalom.
