2011 Chatham Cup
The 2011 ASB Chatham Cup is New Zealand's 84th knockout football competition. The 2011 competition had a preliminary round, a qualification round, and four rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. Competition was run in three regions (northern, central, southern) until the quarter-finals, from which stage the draw was open. In all, 120 teams entered the competition. The 2011 final With both finalists coming from the lower North Island, it was decided by NZF to hold the final at a neutral venue in the same part of the country. Memorial Park, Palmerston North
Memorial Park is a multi-use stadium in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of YoungHeart Manawatu before they disbanded. The stadium has a capacity of 8,000 people. The stadium hosted the final of the 2011 Chatham Cup on 28 August 2011. Wairarapa United won the competition for the first time in their history, defeating Napier City Rovers 2–1. This is the first time that the final of New Zealand's premier knockout football competition has been held in Palmerston North. Lynn-Avon United is a semi-professional association Football club based in New Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. Their first team plays in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1. Takapuna is an amateur football club based in Takapuna, New Zealand. They compete in the Northern League. History The club was founded as Takapuna City AFC in 1964 as a junior club, with the first senior men's teams being added in 1967. By 1971 they were playing in the Northern league first division, a competition which they won at their first attempt. They entered the New Zealand National Soccer League for the first time in 1981 but only lasted one season before being relegated. Bay Olympic is an association football club based in New Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Northern League. They have won the NRFL Premier League three times. History The club was formed from the merger of Blockhouse Bay (founded 1948) and Green Bay-Titirangi United (founded 1973) in 1998. Fencibles United AFC is an amateur association football club, they currently compete in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 2. The club is based in Howick/Pakuranga, Auckland. The clubs roots go back to Pakuranga Town AFC and Howick AFC. History In 1995, two East Auckland clubs, Pakuranga Town AFC and Howick AFC, amalgamated to form Fencibles United AFC. Westlake Boys High School is a state secondary school for boys located in Forrest Hill, Auckland, New Zealand. Waitakere City F.C. was a New Zealand football club. They merged with Norwest United in 2021 to form West Coast Rangers. They last competed in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Premier League. History It was formed in 1989 with the purpose of representing West Auckland in the National Soccer League. At first the club was located in Western Springs, but following a merger with Massey AFC in 1991, it moved to its current location, at Fred Taylor Park in Whenuapai, West Auckland. Metro F.C. is a New Zealand association football club, based in Auckland, that will compete in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1 for the 2020 season, after winning promotion from Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 2 during the 2019 season.
